Was wondering if there are many 240z, 260z & 280z cars owners in ZTH.
How much would one cost now? They are beautiful machines!

Yeah they are indeed beautiful cars. A Z car in a very good condition would fetch a lot of money, up to 20k. I was eyeing a pretty run-down one near my place and the owner was offering it for 5k. I bet he didn't know what it was really worth. Engine is still in the car and the owner claims that it still runs.

And yes, there's nothing like going to the basement garage in the early morning, in the dim, early morning light...and seeing my baby sitting there...waiting for me. Waiting to be unleashed onto the world...

Well, it's unique. If you want the stock taillights, try sourcing from chopshops around KL. I heard that some may still have them.

Saw one 280zx from Perak at Andy's workshop in Pandan Indah some time back - what he had done was some fibrework to make the R32 taillights seem flush fit (i.e. the entire back portion came/filled out - he lost his boot keyhole as a result). Might consider modding the circular lights into the rear boot panel someday - when i've got more cash - or just converting to R33 taillights...as for now, money no enuff...so, all i have are my dreams

RB25DET works fine, cept that it recently developed an intercooler plumbing leak - so boost is not as 'garang' as last time...and since it runs with ceramic turbines - can't get high boost (not more than 0.7 bar i think). The 280zx has stability issues - need strut bars, fender bars, room bars, proper suspension set-up. yada, yada, yada...the list goes on...and so does my wish list.

It's pretty crappy for now - but i've got plans for the future. Am looking at making side exhausts, mebe titan suspensions, proper FR rims etc...

No money, no honey...haihs...

Ummm...this and that bar...is it maybe the body of the car can't tahan the presure? coz well its an old body.and with the rb 25 insibe. it may ripped the car appart...im juz asuming lar...planning to install role cage? it may help a bit i guess..

yaaaa...mebe need spot welding too, original L28 engine was only rated at 150hp (when originally new). banyak nak kena labur - slow-slow lah - must take care of other responsibilities - like my new house next year - so budjet for house overrides budget for car...huhuhu. RB25DET oni got 250hp (when in original condition - now? ur guess is as good as mine).

Roll cage? don wan cops to kacau me ler...

owh b4 i forgot,..when you using the rb 25,..does it juz fit in easyly? coz im hav been thinkin, since its a fr car,..does the long shaft fit nice? and how about the drive shaft?were you using the rb drive shaft?

My Z is a daily drive - so boring stuck in Cheras jam from Bt. 9 go to Tmn. Midah (office) - always like to run a bit on weekend nights - stretch the Zs legs a bit...

Nope - not pandan - but Venice Hill, Bt. 9 Cheras.

RB25DET needs to mod two engine mounting areas - but i heard from a buddy in Sg. Buloh that his RB25DET manual did not require any mounting mods (dunno the exact details bout the differences, tho).

If im not mistaken, the long shaft had to be cut and welded to fit in the 280ZX - which part? - i donno - me not so technically knowledgeable - Ex-biker mah...
