hi i need so help now......i am planning to get a 3 way component for my waja to fix it in front....i am removing my stock speaker in the back....i am retaining my original waja cd player till my new alpine arrives....so now i need some help in chosing wires, cables to fix my speakers and to connect it to my player....i dont have an amp yet by the way....i have no idea what cables or wires to choose......i am confused with what is RCA cables....some monster cables etc etc....so i need some help.....

3 way component powered by the HU? Mind to explain how are you goin to connect?
Anyway I have some speaker wires if you're interested, only tens of ringgit, can PM me if you're interested :).You can use it to connect your speakers and HU
RCA (interconnects) are used to transfer audio signal from your HU to your amp, so I guess you wont need it since you dont have an amp.
Monster cable is a famous brand of cables, ranging from RCA, speaker wires, power cables, etc

i have no idea lah...why cannot connect the 3 way to the HU onli ah.....need an amp ah ???? i am onli getting my amp next month.....by the way what is power cables for.....

mind if I ask what brand is it? I'm not quite familiar with 3 way components, unless its crossovers are like 2-way components with a pair of inputs, I guess you can connect it to your HU. But I don't think its going to sound nice with so little power.
Power cables is to transfer current from your car battery to your amplifier.

probably he meant a 3-way coaxial... those speaker with tweeter mounted ontop the of the speaker itself... most likely a 6 x 9 speaker i think...

Ok I'll try to summarise what cables you need if you're going to install an amp (assuming only one amp).
1. Power cables (from car battery ->fuse -> amplifier)
2. RCA cables (from your HU preout to your amplifier)
3. Speaker wires (from your amplifier output to your speakers)
4. Remote wires (from your HU to your amplifier remote input)
5. Grounding cables (same as power cables , from your amplifier to a chassis point on your car acting as ground)
That's about it. Happy ICE-ing :)

no no not coaxial.....i am going to use DLS iridium 6.3...ita a 3 way component speaker...

oh then you going to need an amp for the better, a powerful 2 channel amp if you run passive or a 6 channel amp if you run active

currently i have a cable which is connected from the battery to the chasis of my car.....i installed it in because the guy in the shop said since i am using autostart for my car its better to install it....does this cable has anything to do with what you are saying of or anything to do with ICE

yup that's the same idea, just make sure the grounding point is firm , a poor grounding will result noise into the system, alternator whines and so forth.
Always have your grounding wires as short as possible, and all the better the same size with your power cables.

Active: Running an electronic crossover (with variable frequency cutoff points
as well as variable slopes, with the ability to amplify and attenuate)
Basically this method is 1 channel for 1 output (speaker), so in your case since
you're running 3 way you'll need a 6 channel.

as for passive: you'll be using a designated crossover with fix crossover points
and slopes (non variable). Usually comes in a package along with your speakers.
You'll have 2 channels going into your crossovers (1 on each crossover), and 3
pairs of output on each crossover.

hope it helps

which one is better active or passive......

active optimizes the ability of your system. So I would say active, but needs alot of tuning.
Bridging an amp means integrating 2 channels into 1, resulting in quad times the power running in mono mode compared to a single channel in stereo mode. :)

Hi

Bro malvinder, i think u better attend some tt n gain some basic knowledge of icing :D dun buy stuff without auditing cuase later might not ur cup of tea, just my 2cts nia.

which is better ...should i bridge my amp for the subs or get an amp separate for my subs.....is the difference big....

well it depends on what amp are you going to use.
Assuming in general both amps are identical, one 4 channel one 2 channel, I would say a separate amp is better since you wont be straining your other amp (in this case 4 channel) which you are using for your components.
However, some amps can take the pounding, so its quite subjective.
