Why Rollcage Is Illegal ?

Yesterday my friend bump into a polis roadblock. They saw his car got rollcage..then ask him"apa ni ?"

He said "untuk keselamatan pemandu and orang yang berada di dalam kereta. "
Then the police said, "ya ke ? Ini bahaya tau ? besi besi banyak." but the rollcage was wraped in superlon and some foam.

The police wrote him a saman stating "ubahsuai yang berbahaya."
I was like Hah ? :blink: bahaya ?? What kind of bahaya.

Acctually i think rollcage is good wah...add more protection to the driver and strengten the passenger compartment...

Any comments ?? :)

It is illegal because on the street, you're not wearing a helmet which will
protect your skull from hitting with the roll cage, even with the additional
foam, you are not safe because the impact would be very strong in a crash.

thats why its illegal to have roll cages on a normal street car.

actually i heard somebody said tat this stuff is illegal becoz it is safe 4 u,
but may not be safe for the ppl who hit your car when accident...
your car is too hard until it can have a high impact during accident...

Earlier got a post discussing about this already... if i remember correctly, the significant factor that say this is illegal is due to :
1) Hard to extract the victim if involved in accident, not easily accessible due to additional metal around
2) If they approve this mod, then your kedai "Abang" will be selling the beng version, which further void all OEM warranty on the car & also the actual safety standard.
3) Like you said, accident could cause head injury.
