Wira SE story here ... Each time it rains or when i drive on the wet, the driver side floorboard gets soaked with water causing the floormat to be soaked as well .. and canuses the windscreen to fog up in the morning .. I have no freaking idea how it gets in .. i tried hosing down the car to spot any leaks through the door or roof .. nothing .. but only managed to identify one .. the stearing rod exiting the firewall to the engine bay .. water is seeping through the nuts there .. fu&k! .. it took me close to 1 week plus to get the darn thing dry .. and one day of driving .. and its wet again .. FU&K !! ..

Iam getting it changed .. but i think there might be other holes .. anyone can point out any possible areas ? ... :baring_teeth:

mine too, passenger side floorboard. always wet one dunno where water come in also. did look for leak last time, but failed.

other possibility is,

can it be from the air cond hole near ur floorboard that is clogged, hence the air cond water leak out, coz the water can't ;leak to other places already...

not too sure how to explain right here...

coz,, once, my bro's new sentra, got 1 area in the air cond clogged, so the water always leak out to his carpets....

then only found oout tat there r too many "habuk" n sands that clogged it..

well, i dunno how to explain here, but still i wanna help u...

hope this is not out of the topic, anything wrg, pls dun flame, me....

juz my 2 cents..

hmm.. usually the air cond tubing is on the passenger side in front .. rite ? Only the drivers side gets wet .. however it Sounds like a reasonable thing to look into .. Hmm .. never did think of the air-cond .. THANKS ...

Are all Wira cars experiencing this problem ? .. You have to be really really lucky to get a proton car which is 100% problem free huh ..

dun worry , u will get ur problem solved sooner or later.....

Well, it is small annoying problems like this that makes Proton ownership more of a nuisance. They are cheap to buy and cheap to run but there is always this little voice at the back of your head reminding you of what you have to live with if you do. Nowadays with A - Z prices rising and salaries not going anywhere, a Proton seems like a financially sound buy, but, but, but, there is always a "but" with them.

Ye ke all wira have problems??not all wira laa.my 5 yr old wira not have any problem ie:-power window, leaking (any type of leak). But,this depends on ur luck also and not forget,ur type of driving also can take advantages of ur cars lifespan:regular_smile:

haha, yeah true!

nowadays buy cars oso depends on luck...

sum even a new car oso hv problem....

but some like urz aldy 5 yrs, still good..

The possibility of getting a bad car is never 0%, for any manufacturer and for any model. It is how low the percentage is that is important. Lexus, the standard in the industry as far as quality is concerned, have an average defects amount per component of 0.002%, way way way below that of the industry average of 2% (20,000 per million produced). I wonder what is Proton's average. The regularity with which I hear someone bitch about problems with their Proton goes some ways to telling me that it is pretty high. Of course, I know there are more Protons on the road, but the amount of bitching also way outnumber anybody else. This is of course only a guesstimate on my part but I think a lot of you would share the same thoughts.

UPDATE: Don't know how accurate the earlier numbers are, I just remembered them from something I've read a while back. Anyway, some other numbers which were given by industry experts during the Myvi launch a while back; In Japan, the factory doing Lexus models is down to 0.05 defects per car. That's 5 defects in every 100 cars. In contrast, Perodua claims that theirs is 0.2% which is 2 defects in every 10 cars.

we have no lemon laws here.

it will never happen & BTW the former masters of proton says the public is inmagining things. no such problems ever existed.

Its always a dull day seeing your baby sitting under the sun trying to dry her undies .. lols .. but i geuss these are the little irritating things Proton are good for... Its not like they have the best of mechanics either .. all half boiled eggs..
not much help in doing anything ..

Anyone know any good body shop i can send the car to ? maybe they can give a better assesment . .

My suggest base on my experience.Siram some water in the air cond air intake (the black plastic cover between windscreen and hood). If got water drop under your dashbord, remove wiper arm and the black plastic cover.Find any tiny hole in that 'longkang' according to the drop location. If find one, think how to cover it.
Good luck.

Ok .. shall try it over the weekend .. Is there like a rubber lining under there or what ? ...

anyone know how much tht rough flootmat costs huh ? ...

dunno.. but my car changed once.. long time ago.. all floor mat changed. need to ask my dad tho.. he's not here now since he send my little brother to singapore to study.. hmm... 5 days alone at home.. what should i do?? /gg

i still can't figure out the prob, my aircond did leak water last time, but its fixed, yet floormat still wet.

so.. temporary solution: thirsty hippo.

Nope. Just 'longkang' to drain out water drop from windscreen through fender
near front door. Also check door rubber (attach to body) near fender. It always
'terkelepet' near the dashboard. But first thing first, sprinkle water into that lonkang
to confirm it.

Eh, i think i have a suggestion too. try to jack up your car and check the undercarriage, maybe you can see some rubber cover under there cause some cars have rubber cover for the floor board just like in the boot. Water could enter the cabin from there too.

because your undercarriage is always exposed to water when ever it rains so could be a big possibility.

hi there, just sharing
I had the same problem b4 & had suffer for at least 2 months, finally it resolved.

I had tried to chck all the possibility like u all but at last i found it.
It should be leaking on the water holder where all windscreen water drop in, u only be able to see it if can remove ur dashboard off then will be clearer view & all repair works also need to remove dashboard.

I had spend about $200 to fix it.

200 sounds resonable to me for fixing such an irritating problem !! .. Where did you bring it to ?

It coming from the top part of the car i geuss, since the sponge behind the pedals are also getting wet. I sent the car to the mechanic and he raised it and said he dint see any thing of concern. The rubber plug is doing its job, tried pouring some water in and it didnt leak out ..

Everyday raining in cyberjaya .. sure car turn into mini swiming pool if take out and drive one ..

I brought it to Wah Hooi workshop, which exactly behind the NAZA workshop after IOI Mall if coming from Cyberjaya.
After IOI Mall, pass by a Mobil station, after that a factory then NAZA show room, turn left towards Sunway toll, keep on the left lane then coming to a junction where u can turn into the factory area, looking for Wah Hooi workshop when u reach at Naza show room, Ah Hooi is the tauke of the shop.
He is a nice guy can just looking for him & said recommend from a Satria guy number plate 5444, he will remember la!

Orite..i did some further testing on my own, and water is entering trough the sides of the car for the spliage near the front door. Iam not sure why its speeping through, but it is ..

Thanks for the shop recomendation..iam bringing the car to glenmarie since its still under warranty and if they do a half ass job .. then i might consider the shop you recomended.

Will just have to wait and see ..
