vtec vs vvti

Hi,

How come more people like vtec than vvti? Much more powerful is it?
I know this is a Honda section, i can figure out the response, but in reality how's vvti compare to vtec??

I read in toyota section stock AE101 can smoke stock sGti and putra or any 4g93??
one quoted AUTO 4A-GE 20V can beat sGti...how true??

How about 4A-GE 20V VS B16a/b??

its alwiz been compare by a v-tec engine and another engine.... hhahaha... and usually this type of discussion will lead into an arguement... but if it can discuss in a formal and gentlement style i guess its ok ... but due to i have seen so many topics... about comparing engine usually leads to an arguement....

but wat i have experience b4 between a stock 20V vvti and a stock b16a i would say the b16a does give the lil more extra kick then the 20V.. i am not saying this because i drive a honda and i love v-tec but i do think its a fact.... i do believe tat 20V has a potential to be a very fast engine ... i have seen those japanese tunning CD how they mod a 4AGE 20V or 16V its damn fast and i didint believe tat engine can rev till 10,000rpm easily... but too bad in malaysia here i yet to see 1 that is fast... but i do believe there are fast and powerful 20V out there... respect to all the 20V owners out there peace...

cannot really compare engine to engine ler...unless u compare on-paper specs ler....cause normally people race car, not just the engine, but the whole car...so other factors also make difference...like suspension, brakes, tuning, driver's skills and balls, etc....which one faster?...good combination of all ler will win...otherwise, sauber petronas also using ferrari engine but how come not as fast as ferrari f1 car?...

wut car is the b16a in? an eg, ef, crx????
and wut do u mean by 2nd stage? sorry.. not too fammiliar with all these stages... is there like a standard for which stage ur at?

i think on EG with stage 2 cam shaft (Toda/Jun/Crower/Skunk2/ or the CTR/) i guess so.....in highway dun play play with 1.8 VVTi Altis, damn fast ooooo can easily exceed 220km/h

avan ...... are u sure bout the altis. presently i got 1.8 vvti altis n ek converted.... i can tell you altis is all about refinement..... nice drive n smooth flow. but ek is all about performance and handling. no care for refinement only all out power.

i've raced that altis....but the top end is far from my desire, handling to soft feel like floating on the road.

but honda.... ahhh that's a totally different story :)

Last time got 1 altis keep following my Accord on Karak Hway (Gombak) until Karak LPT, even though i already in front of him like 8-10 cars like that, but not too bad the Altis power. Speed around 140-180kmh. I waited for him at Karak LPT after that , hopefully can test the topspeed with him, but that guy suddently slowing his car lor.. if not can prove here the Altis topspeed!!

drive a eg with a 1.6L single cam ZC EFI.. there was once this vios chased me.. i pulled away from him during acceleration.. but he caught up to me really easily as i was hitting 160km/h and he was still gaining on me but i had to slow down for the exit once i touched 180km/h..

i heard they have a speed cut at 180km/h and installing a RSM wont eliminate the speed cut, am i right? but still for a 1.5 it's really quick.. is it really that powerful? but of course my car hasn't got a vtec, hehe

Totally agree with u bro.....invest for a honda vtec n u won't regret it, there's pride beside the all out performance.... it's a package....

i cant really agree with your statement even though my car is JDM... quality wise local assemble honda also not bad...
