vtec prob in soch vtec engine...

all sifu here..need ur help coz im new in vtec engine...my car is ej6 sohc vtec auto trans..when i use d4 gear and my rmp over 5k, why vtec is not open, and when using d3 gear is also same. anyone can tell me how vtec work on auto tranny. thanks...

Plz dun hope that local MF716 engine with auto gear box will give you the VTEC feeling as obvious as B16.

Me too driving SOHC VTEC. Its true that you can't feel the VTEC engaging, but when you see stock Wira's or Satria's dissapearing from your mirros, then you know its engaged.

Its a pretty powerful car for stock 1.6 litre class. I just checked, B16A's halfcuts are retailing at RM7000 ish. Its still pretty expensive considering workmanship not included yet. Lets not even talk about B16B's or even B18C. Best just go for H22A. Cheaper but may not pass JPJ test.

yup..stock 1.6 svtec for me is powerful than other car 1.6 except all B taiko la heheh... even auto tranny, i can feel the power of the engine when accelerate on it... but i think mie punya car damn powerful la... have seen it in front of his shop...like got white beast inside his car... and damn cun car...

i got 1.6 sohc manual!!!, easily beat 1.6 wira, gen2 and kia or hundai !!
haven got chance to try with MIT waja yet!

With stock exhaust/piping/intake normally u can't really feel or hear the vtec sound. try to change to the bigger piping/exhaust/intake from whatever brand....soon definitley the 'prrrrrgg' sound come out la.

If still not come-out jugak, better conver the head to B16A lor (donno can do or not),...assuming same blok lah. Donno also

honda is not like mitsu i think, which u could get mivec tophead n internals then transplant...leaving the original block in it place n u dun have to mess-up later wif endorsement and all....in our case,whole block n head must use b16a

i like vtec power...have seen b16 with bolt on turbo...so powerfull...but not have a chance to try it...

think to convert to 99 spec first then think about the engine hehehe
