Hi all,

between these 3 car..

which one is worth to buy...plz share some strong n weaknesses of these 3 model.

heard that waja is getting better now.

new vios is very catchy, same wif the new city...

this wud be my list.

1. city VTEC
2. vios 1.5G with ABS, all discs brake, VSC, airbag, EBD
3. City I-DSI
4. Vios 1.5 E.
5. Waja 1.6 premium

i wud avoid waja because by 2006,
1. it wud be 6 years old. its old and no new looks. new model? maybe in 2010 i.e. WRM (waja replacement model)
2. its big though inside and out, but as premium is using 16" standard alloys, its does hamper its performance.
3. handling wud be best in this group.
4. parts, service and maintenance good
5. but there are more than 230,000 waja on the road..kinda boring.
6. what i heard, proton dealers are giving as much as RM6K discount for new buyers but beware of old stock cars. proton finding it difficult to sell their cars lately, so left it under the sun at their stock yard.

City VTEC.
1. more poweful than i DSI, of course.
2. flexible interior
3 CVT gearbox with 7 pre set ratios, giving u the feeling of 7 gear changes at your finger tips.
4. downside is CIty does look feminine compare to masculine look of Vios.

Vios G
1. also has VVTI and no timing belt hence lower maintenance.
2. 4 speed auto is less advanced than Honda's CVT but supersmooth
3. loaded with niceties like ABS, EBD, VSC and rear disc brakes.
4. must wait for facelift model..coming very soon

City iDSI
1. Not as powerful as VTEC but still fast as a 1.5 due to CVT gearbox.
2. very economical.

Vios E
1. better buy this than the Waja.

others to consider
1. New Kia Rio

thanks bro...waiting for the new vios now...at least gotta some precautions before i choose waja.

If u wanna go for Vios, there's a new facelift coming soon..

Go for the Vios. But, u might also want to check out the new Nissan Sentra.

new nissan sentra expensive than vios, city n waja...

There's no question it would be either the Vios or the City. Forget the other piece of junk (no offense).

Then depending on priorities, choose between the 2.

If you want loads of space, it has to be the City. Get the iDSI if you want economy and VTEC if you prefer a bit more power. Provided you can live with the City's looks (which is a bit better nowadays).

If space isn't an issue, I reckon the full spec Vios G is a better option. Has lots of nifty stuff including VSC which is great. Get the lower spec Vios E only if you are a cheapskate and want it anyway. Not worth it in my opinion.

have seen vios new facelift on motortrader. cool..

WAJA = High Potential Power Window failure
well, if you don't mind open your DOOR to >> Access toll booth (can be solved by spend adiitional $$ to buying smart tag), parking booth, or even your condo parking booth,

WAJA shall still in your consideration list.

Someone please update me, does Proton solve the Power Window Problem in WAJA?

no wonder i m always seing waja driver open their door at toll station..

another bad points of waja...

more plz

my dad's waja year 2000 had the power window motor changed 3 times in the past 5 years...

the 1st time kena RM300..the last one luckyly spare parts are getting cheaper..less than RM100.

to reduce the risk, i advise him to SMART TAG!!

ermm dunno about new city, but im owning pre-facelift model city, i find it fun to play, when i wana cruise around, just slow slow only, when i nit somemore power, o rushing on time, i can play around with 7 speed mode...its something like manual but without clutch...so i no regret with my city loh...looks outside can be mod, but in the end still ur decision loh...

but vios also ok, tried drive before but just not my taste of coffee loh...but i tried race once with vios, unintentionaly lah, i was rushing to class, suddenly this vios tot i ajak racing with him, so he kept on tiong my back lah....as far as i know the result is i nit quite a long time to overtake him....and nit some times to pulling distance in between....since city has 110 hp and vios has 109hp.. win abit abit in the end lah... no offence to anyone, just sharing out my experience...

i prefer honda city

hey bro, nice car in ur sig, do u have the bigger pic for the honda accord pic on the left hand side of ur sig kah, o more modded honda accord pic...?...coz rarely can see honda accord mod, just saw once quite extreme mod which also one of the ZTH member white colour one...

I had the priviledge of driving both Waja and City and i must say Waja gives a really nice firm ride with good handling too. Its not too soft and neither too hard when going over bumpy roads. Apart from the power windows, the Waja is really quite an ok car to drive around. It seats 5 comfortably with decent legroom and the engine is quite lively though it loses steam at high revs. Plus point would be the fact that you can dump in a nice EVO 5 engine if you're bored with stock performance.

As for City, my sis drives one and the major selling point of this car would be the shocking amount of space inside the car. They designed this car with one thing in mind and that would be the space, both inside the boot and also inside the car. However, for a big size guy like me, i find that the seats are a little too small and at long distance travel, my ass hurts a little. The City also give a nice firm ride but it doesn't like being pushed thru the corners. You have this feeling the car is just gonna snap when taking hard corners while the Waja takes the corner without a problem. Performance wise, not much complains considering the engine gives good power output though it feels sluggish at mid revs. However, the best part is probably the gearchange. Its as smooth as a continental car gearchange and you just don't feel it. It purrs like a cat.

Overall, both have this strong points and quite rightly pointed out, you must beware of Proton when they give out big discounts coz they might give you old stock car which may have been under the sun for half a year. City on the other hand is selling like hot cakes. Given the right budget, i'd personally choose the City over the Waja simple because their overall package looks alot more attractive. Also, one major point to consider is the service centre. I've been to Proton and Honda service centre and i must say the Honda SC gives the best customer satisfaction.
