Hello all,
Decided to get my old car a tint coz i've been travelling a lot lately. I have a budget of about RM500 to RM600 and i'm looking around for a trusted shop which does a good tint job. Please no Brother's or cosplus coz i was there to fix my platenumber and i'm shocked at their level of workmanship of tint. Hopefully you guys can suggest a place around subang/pj area. How's ecotint or tint shoppe workmanship and price? btw, where exactly are both these places?

any rough estimation on the price of a tint for all 6 windows? or at least 4 windows?

prodigy,
How about trying ecotint in taipan mentioned by CieMen. I myself is using Ecotint SilverBlue. The price is about rm600++. I have been using it and can consider it is quite good for the price. There is a number of Ecotint shops, i got mine done at Ampang and believe me you rather try the one in Taipan. The workmanship is not so good and they discolored my dashboard while tinting my winscreen.

The price i mentioned is for sedan cars (all 6 windows). The front winscreen they put on RayBarrier which is the top range of tinting film in Ecotint while the rest is the color that you have chosen. The reason the put on raybarrier is b'coz of its visibility.

Hope this helps!

i just went to ecotint taipan. RM660 for all around tint with the front windscreen given the top of the range tint. there is however another cheaper option at RM400+ but i think the 660 offer is good enuff. most probably doing the tint tomorrow unless within the next 12 hours someone can give another cheaper offer. v kool maybe?

some how i feel tht, ecotint cant give me the result i wan.In other words, tak ada rasa..the color is too light..

juz my 2 cent dun shoot me

my car was tinted by some1 at zth. tht time he was offering the 'tint at ur doorstep' promo..pretty good job and convenience....

need to see the Brand that can decide the price??

EcoTint in Taipan
Whoa you also know eh... :)
my friend's the big boss there ler...

anyway be careful of other tinting company coz if it blocks near infra red then your smart tag, fasttrack, etc.etc. cannot work when you go through toll.

ecotint doesn't have that problem.

Well, ecotint focuses more on practicality la, less heat, better UV blocking, etc.etc. but they didn't really concentrate much on the colour of the tint mah. but anyway it's not bad whut.

V -kool (Gold Dust) ~ RM430 = 6 windows

JE shop but in Sri Rampai...

najibkl

did my tinting there .. v-kool (gold dust) .. the workmanship is bit shoddy I would say .. lucky its only my rear left/right and rear windscreen ..

imagine .. after a few hours, the film is already 'menggelembung' balik and they didnt clean the cermin betul2 .. now ada kotoran like small particles .. this week gonna screw Lam ler ..

Wah really meh?? How come my ones not facing dat problem.. Nasib baik loh...

Got warranty izzit?? Tiu there la...Better go back dat place...

well...just got an advice to share...

make sure u do yer tinting for ONCE...make sure no more cutting out..replace n stuff...

it will only damage ur car mirror...with lotsa scrathes...
thats what happened to my old car...cos i'm still student that time..so not much budget...use those cheap tints...make me look like kena conned only..

now...i've spent quite a reasonable price for my new car tints...very satisfied...they wrapped my whole car interior...(they even washed their legs when they step into my car)...

all i say...make sure its 1 time work....thats all...

Ham's Car Linked, i did mine for 6 windows RM 700 +, not very happy with the job .. fugggg :( :(

yes...cos hte installer is my fren introduce la...he see mine is new car....so ma jaga for me also la...he look at me so handsome..hahahaha :D

are you kidding of what? the shop's name is ham's car linked?!?!?
kinda funny rite..

anyway, just to update you guys, i got my car tinted already. went for the RM660 package. he gave me the top of the range film for the front windscreen coz the rules says 70% light penetration needed for the front windscreen therefore a higher end film is advisable. workmanship is very very good i would say. took him about an hour or more to finish up my whole car and though only 1 small part of my front windscreen was a bit defective but not noticable. in fact after tinting, it's advisable not to wind down the windscreen to protect the tint.

fortunately the weather has been very good this 3 days so i haven't really get to feel the real effects but this afternoon we had a bit of sun and it was fantastic. sunlight went thru as usual but not much heat felt.

yeah..dont wind down the screen at least for a week ( me )

even like that...after parkin my car under the hot sun for the whole day...go open the door...sure got those hot air la...but when i jump into the car...it not hot at all...(my seats) but the stering a bit hot la....

then start the car....wait around 2-3 minute...whole car cool already...

done my car for almost 1k all golddust except for front windscreen v-kool. Workmanship ok lar...they even stick a warning sticker to each door to prevent someone scrolling down the window. Btw i did mine in old kland road

but sad lar..driver side screen calar becuz i ter accidentally scroll down the windown during police roadblock. You know la...when police ask for I/C takan u open the door and give them meh...later make yourself suspicious
