Finally got itchy today and went to Sunway to get one of those throttle controller! I just try the cheapest one first, Shadow E-Drive. Initially was asking for the ori Japan Pivot, but the price is just crazy, more than double the Shadow and almost like piggy back price range! No way I'm gonna pay for that much money without getting real additional horsepower so the cheapest one it is! Having said that, the result is actually quite good! It does help get the car pick up faster as the pedal becomes more sensitive to the touch, practically eliminates the lag. It's like having an engine which have been tuned to very advanced ignition timing without the risk of knocking! There are 5 settings for eco mode, 1 normal/by pass setting, and 9 settings level for power mode. So far I've only tried the power settings from 4-9 and the pedal gets more aggressive/sensitive to the touch every time the setting is increased. However using the max setting 9 might not be the best after all since it becomes too sensitive, feels a bit unnatural already and it makes the A/T kick down a bit too soon. So probably the best is around 5-7. Note that for other brands, there are only up to 7 settings for the Sport/power mode, while Eco & normal are the same. Installation seems very straight forward as there's already plug & play harness, so no need to cut wires. However for some cars may need to have OBDII scanner tool to get rid of check engine error code. (I saw this happened for Cruze which were installed before mine, and the technician spent some time to fix, check and test drive to make sure all ok, and he said for the Cruze it's always like that). As for my car, no check engine issue at all, everything went smooth. So my conclusion so far, it's actually quite a good & useful purchase for less than rm400.
