Dear all sifu, yesterday i tried to install the VVT Light into my SVT. Accordingly to Wong Sifu diagram copy from last tread. After installed the LED, it seem to light whenever the engine is OFF. Also won't light when VVT engage.... So i thought maybe my wiring problem, ECU or VVT problem? Then when i take out my VVT Socket from the Engine bay... Seem like go a lot's black oil in it.. So i wanna ask sifu sifu here.. How to check weather my VVT functioning or not? Also why so many oil at the VVT socket? Hopefully my VVT still working....

i) is the connection of VVT light to the ECU correct ?
ii) it's called "Camshaft Timing Oil Control Valve" A.K.A VVT socket heee i think...open the socket, check resistance (the "thinggy" mounted on the engine)...11 - 13 omh at 20 celcius (68 Fahrenheit)
iii) or you can just feel the different between VVT socket connected or not connected...feel if the VVT got kick-in or not...
iv) still no diff...PM sifoo Wong ECU "health" check-up...

good luck...

[UPDATE] for the oily VVT socket...just simply wipe/wash, go jalan2, go TT with the car....later check again oily VVT socket still there or not...

hi hitz,
maybe u get use to the power liao.. no feel liao..
must go upgrade bolt on turbo la..hahaha

No lar.. my car no power wan... ... Hahahaha.. That why wondering my VVT working or not lor.. Hahaha

if you can't feel it...meaning you didn't "Get The Feeling"

yo bro..

the VVT terminal u connect to correct or not ?... for my knowledge... vvt terminal is pin 16 on the center socket from ur ecu.. wire color i think is red and black...

then how u connect ur wiring to a LED... i done my VVT indicator with 12V light not LED with no problem... but feeling wise i think i can feel the VVT engage gua...

but 1 thing is very confused me is every time when i tekan my pedal.. VVT light will on.. from range 2k-3k also will ON la... confused..

sifu Khwong, according to 20V ECU Diagram.. The VVT is connected to the L socket wor? Terminal 7, colour is Red Black also... Can you confirm ar? Thank q... Confused now where to tap the signal... Hahahaha...

bro hitz.... 1stly... dun call me sifu.. me still learning from many sifu here..

according to my diagram for AUTO ecu is the scket who had 16 pins wan.. at terminal 16 lo.. but may b urs is manual ecu...

according to this, manual ecu at terminal N which had 26 pins wan... the VVT terminal is terminal 7......

therefore.. may b u correct also.. cus i onli study on auto ecu.,...

bro mike... my car dun hav VVTi la.. onli Got VVT light... pronouce is nearly same but perfomance wise differ alots looo

thanks

The AE101 20 Valve ECU has 3 plugs,
L (12 pins), M (16 pins) & N (26 pins) if a manual transmission

or

M (16 pins), N (26 pins), & 0 (22 pins) if auto transmission

so yours is Manual transmission...
Plus L(7) is for battery...
N(7) is for VVT...

yeah,, bro chinozie make it more clear..

this is wat we call senior in toyota modi .... i am still junior onli...

bro chinozie.. can u tell me .. auto ecu when tekan onli.. VVT will engage .. where differ from manual ecu..

thanks
