suspension question for eg8/eg9 owner

i wud like to know sumthin about suspension on sr4, specially dedicated to eg8/eg9 owner.

my question is, does anyone has experience using 15" tyre + standard absorber + sport springs? hows the result? how much the gab between tyre and fender? could u give me specific detail which kind of sport springs used.

The reason why i need this detail because i was using 15" tyre+standard absorber+kimex 1st model sport springs before, but the gab between tyre and fender was terrible, at front i couldnt even let any finger in while at rear there were about 3fingers that can be fitted. finally i go for adjustable and theres no issue on a gab coz i can adjust it but the only thing that annoying me is its quite hard!

i can see some eg8/eg9 on the road that using 15"tyre and has a nice look at the gab between tyre and fender its about 1finger for both front and rear. Does anyone know which sport spring that would give that great look with standard absorber, i would very much appreciate.

why don't you buy branded springs such as 5zigen, spoon, etc... use them on standard or other absorbers... but i would like to recommend monroe ler.....it's the best!!!
for my car, i'm using blue 5zigen springs with standard sr4 absorbers. i'm very satisfied with them....

im using 195/50/15 and ive tried dc2r springs+short stroke abs before.it is progressive type and the gap between tyre and fender is 2 fingers.springs not hard ( so so ) but comes corner still floating abit ( even with front strut bar and sway bar at the back ).

u may try Tein springs or Eibach's, costly but look good.a bit hard , corner sap sap sui.

problems come when kena humps or lubang or banjir, sure die one.

thanks for your infos. how much the gab for 5zigen spring with standard sr4 absorbers that ure using now? do u hav roughly idea how much the cost for those springs and where can i find it.

okay i'm using 195/50/15 too. wut is short stroke abs? not a standard one? is that gud? wut r u currently using now n wuts ur recomendation to me tien or eibach's springs wit standard or short sroke abs?

it is 2 fingers at the front and 3 fingers at the back. i got the absorbers for rm 200 at half-cut shop with spring. the 5zigen spring i also bought from the half-cut for rm 140(front only). why don't you buy new springs. can cost roughly rm500 i set.

another option is you can use the da6 absorber with spring for the rear side. costs about rm140 only. the gap is 3 fingers. but pls be careful when u buy from the half-cut.... try to check whether the abs is still ok or not....

i still dont understand how much the proper gab should we use. 3fingers at the back while 2 fingers at the front? 3 fingers does it look good?? there is the reason why u set that way? i was thinking that less than 2fingers for both front & rear resulted in good looks but not sure whats the other impact to abs.

stock one is just like 3 fingers front, 4 fingers back

how low u wanna go? 1 fingers?

tein is around 1 1/2 finger front and back
eibach is around 1 finger front, 1 1/2 finger back
sustec is around 2 finger front, 2 1/2 finger back

proper way is to get performance abs + performance springs. ( if u get extra money ).best way is to invest in hi/low+soft/hard suspension set.then u can set it according to your preferences.but they aint cheap.

whats your goal actually? if u wanna look good but dun care much abt performance then Tein is a good choice.can get from n1, brand new, rm650 excluding workmanship

impact on stock abs? cepat habis since bound & rebound rates goes faster on lowered springs.but it depends on the road conditions etc etc.but in malaysia roads eh....hmmm...unless if u stay in putrajaya which imho generally the road is still good well the rate will decreased a bit. expect within a year or 1 year and half u need to change ur abs.

just from my experience then.

my eg now even cat oso can sit on the tyre...

bro, my eg old junk eg la..standard mandard bodoh je..no power..hehe
go out crusing la bro..drive your super fast ek..hehe, the eg tu 2 door or four door? if 2 door do a 2L eg bro with forged pistons and conrods, hi cams, koyo radiotor, samco hose, use a big intake manifold with big asss trotel body..use roll cage, take out the back seat and spare tyres, put some cusco bars..nice rims..pergh..masyuk...hehe

my set up now is just a KYB (blue type one) with rsr spring. Very comfy. used to ride on buddy club abs but way to hard. my breast pointing south already.hahaha

if you want comfy,use ya standard abs with standard or replacement spring. Send the abs to machine shop. get them to machine the thread and the stopper at the shaft for another inch. One abs will cost you roughl 30 bucks.But it is really worth it. you got a lowered ride on a short stroke abs for 120 bucks.

Anyone selling tein type HA murah2???I can't nailed the BMW corner anymore.

its 4 door la nafy.. n the tranny is tiptonic... hahahhaha
i oso wish i can have the setup like u mentioned... but $$$$$ &^&^&**(&%%$$....
