A police have the right to give me summom by "obscured no. plate"?
i driving back to kl from segamat last nite. i meet a block and the police stopped me and say my number plate no lights. .. i changed my bumper, so now my car at front only have the headlights and signal lights, no more spot light.
he ask from me RM50 "kopi money", i don want to give, cos i slightly remember this small offence summons cost RM 60-70 only. but for this unnecessary trouble, i said i give u RM10 drink kopi settle it (lolz), but he refused me. then he keep telling me if he give me a summon then will cost hundred plus, bla bla bla. but i still don want to pay. so he wrote the summon "obscured no. plate RM120". .. wtf?!?!
Then i come back home check JPJ summons list, "obscured no. plate" RM 70. so guys, any idea or help? am i really have to pay this?:angry_smile:

just my 2cents worth..u try call the jln bandar, main traffic police hq, ask them got discount..i know police sometimes can be funny..should be more then RM100, coz speeding also about RM100, after discount. hope it helps

hmmm if not wrong u can ask discount till 70bucks
if u change ur bumper its not illegal to change cause in JPJ rules said u can change without inspection thingi

hmm summon for ur number plat in front or rear?? as i know front no need light ony rear need light

These cops should be out in the roads making sure people are not doing silly things and causing accidents. Instead they chose to stop drivers over petty mistakes.

If i were you, i will write an appeal letter to the police HQ and tell them you didn't know your lights were out. See what they say.

the last time I kenak is around Rm100-120 (forgoten); which was 2 years back...
mine was because of metal car plate. Than I painted it to white.
once your rear car plate doesn't have the 2 small tiny LED shinning on them; it's considered as a "kesalahan"/offence aldy.

hmmm what happen if the bulb bakar edi how leh
so the police can say what they want and we tried to explain but no use also
so the rules still need to revise
hmmm maybe can write to the star paper to complain

sumutaO:

- Stop bribing officers !
- Accept legal compound, as its your problem not to inspect ure car b4 start driving.
- The offence could be charged about RM30 - RM60 or less if u do "Rayuan"

Dont ever bribe an enforcement officer, if you bribe that means your blocking him from doing his job, if he seems like asking for bribe, just be straight and ask for compound .. thats all!

Using reflective number plate's could avoid such problems ;) ..

well, this kinda cases, never gonna finished.....unless we stop bribing them,

when there is no demand, they will b no supply....

dun bother them...

i rather pay more a bit to government i won't pay to the officer. unless he want to accept my "RM10" lolz. see how cheap can he be. .. next time i try RM5 also. (its a way to make them shy, not really bribe.)

Yes .. usually i keep only RM5 or less in my wallet, and usual money i keep in my secret pocket .. just show them "tarak" .. usually they let go .. some strict guys will issue me love letter tho'

;)

Yeah, make sure you take out all your money from your wallet while the police officers are walking towards your car and beg them asap

if you have the time.. go to court.. n get rayuan there.. usually cheaper... but hv to pay on dat day at the court sumon counter.. if not, u will be arrested after that day.. usually pple got speeding ticket go to court.. say to the hakim some mercy words.. n get lots of diskaun.. usually ppl go outstation do that coz got more than 1 summon..

if police summon.. u can get discount up to 40% by or issued by officers.. but u need to go to Hq traffic station la.. where got officers..

dont ever pay through police counters such as in shopping complexes.. usually cant get any discount..

actually he can see i have few hundreds in my wallet, maybe tht reason he don accept my "RM10". i don want to bribe him with RM50 is because i know the small offence doesn't cost much.
now my brother help me to pay the summon only RM30. ..
Next time if anyone of u meet this problem please use RM5 to bribe him !!
Let him know how shame is it. ..
Last time i feel them like a robber, now i feel them like a begger. ..

they would take anything ... once i had no cash in my wallet they took my cap instead. serious ! no joke!

they all need money...konstabel punya gaji RM545.00 je...mcm mana mau kawin???pergi tandas je kasi buang...But im very angry when koperal can use honda jazz.my granma house near from police quaters...

actually if some police really desperate, they will take WHATEVA cash in ur wallet.

recently my friend kena, he was riding a bike and suddenly a police stop him coz

a)no helmet
b)no license
c)carry ppl
d)potong traffic light

hahaha... sounds serious eh? the police ask him for 100 but he dont have, so he began to bag and bag . he said he got no money la... not working....studying ect ect ( all the nonsense )

in the end, the police took is last 8 ringgit ! LoLz !! ... RM 8 for 4 kesalahan

My godness!! what the hell are the police/jpj officer for actually? Enforcing the law or bugging around? Me myself got 2 exprncs with those silent robber. Both happen when i was still riding motobike (college years). The thing that i still remember till now (first road block and saman exprience), the officer at his 50+ of age (almot pencen look like), said that my P sticker size was not at it standard size.
when heard that, i knew that I must prepare to recieve his saman. But u know what, instead of giving me saman, he keep telling me the same thing. "awak punya P tak ikut saiz standard ni. Kalau kompaun mau RM150 ni." and at last he ask me "So macamana nak selesai ni? Selesai di sini atau bayar kompaun?".
And not ashamed to confess, at that time i really dont have any idea what his mean by saying that.
Pitty for the old officer and his family. Even if his salary is not enuf, shouldnt do such thing. Coz many people ot there still actually has income that far less than what he obtained each month as police officer.:emoticon_U::emoticon_U:
