Here I am looking at Greddy's turbo kits and reading this term.. "SPL spec" on the intercooler and exhaust.

I go on the net, wondering what this SPL term means, and then I find... CAR Audio terms.... WTF?!

So it's definite that it doesn't mean Sound Pressure Level.

So.. any of you guys know what this term means? If ask greddy, sure take a couple of days to a week for them to reply.

Seriouslah.. I can't get any info from google or the greddy website at all.. email greddy already.. but the response will be very slow.

i wasnt kidding actually.i did read it somewhere.

it was like T51R SPL or KAI, GARAGE SPL

maybe im wrong. but anything with SPL word is BIG.

Thanks.. I'm really wondering because I don't see it on one particular brand. Most japanese brands have it.. and considering the japanese penchant for weird acronyms.. I think you might just be right.

Could it stand for shroudder port on the turbo itself. It is like port on the turbo housing to release the excessive boost.

I'm just guessing

Got another trivia :-

B18 GSR

What does GSR stands for ?
i wonder sir - sport injection racing...doesn't sound like a phrase/sentance...?
describe it individually?

same goes to spl maybe?

hahaha then SPL should mean :-

Suka Pulun Laju hahahahahahahahahha

dun marah aaaa Mr. thread starter, just joking while we're trying to crack our heads to find the meaning ........

I think J101 is right, because it's not limited to a certain component.

SPL parts costs a premium and the design and workmanship is supposed'ly (never trust marketing dept.) better than their standard aftermarket component.

Greddy also uses SPL as shortform in their catalogue.. SPL note = special notes.

As for GSR..

A search on google turned up 'Grand Sport Racing'
Just a bit of trivia...
From history, the Integra GSR was initially marketed for the female demographic in Japan. (O_o)
--> Onna no kuruma zo!

So maybe....
Girls Sports Racer?

With Japanese's version of english (Japlish) Hard to figure out what they mean sometime.
