Hi ya'll,

Last wednesday (Oct 12), me and D went to get some price on items. I had some look at body kits at the accessory shop that i always visit and introduced D to. Apparently, they've upgraded to be able to custome any form of body kits we request (that means Spit, you can draw whatever you want, its do-able). D had come quotes on interior leathers, but no definate answers i believe. And sadly, he couldn't get the 3rd brake light he wants, as those lights needs to be ordered. I think he'll pay Mr Lee another visit eh D..??

But what was really cool was we found a really cool shop that sells 17" rims, and we got some really good quotes.

(These are jus some examples he carries, there are lot more, but i didnt take any pics, these are off the net)

The last one is similar to the one i'm interested in, but this pic is not the exact one i saw. The one i saw has similar design, but with a black spoke side background, and no cut in the middle. The gap between the spoke is also a little smaller, and the spoke's curve much nicely, and connect at the end of the rim. I was quoted rm1350 for that, but ofcourse, i havent bargain further. Ather rims are at similar price range, the latest models are even rm1200.

He quotes me the Evo 8 tires, i believe he said silverstone Evo 8 tires, at rm250 for the 205/45.

A question i have is that can the RD1 only fit 205? can it fit like 215? I am hopin to get wide tires......

Other than that, i'm reporting what i've been snopping out. The shop's called "Len Sheng Tyre & Auto Sdn. Bhd.". Its in Wangsa Maju.

p/s:i hope the pics come's out good.......

Wide tyre? Ask ericmivec and black samurai.. btw.. i using silverstone evol 8.. cheap but not recommended.. Also, which brands are those rims?

http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/../members/archdyeu.html, those pic you posted are 5 lugs, unless you did lug conversion, else we shall only look for 4 x 114.3

4 - Number of lugs
114.3 - PCD

I'm using 215 for front and 225 for back. So don't worry, just make sure the rim offset is okay with your car.

Sunway got 2nd hand rim, I think ken bring singapore james and bought some super nice rim for low price.

happy shopping

Ah, my mistake..... but the rims i saw had 4 lugs, i dont think its a problem. The pics were jus examples off the net (i must remember to take pictures of the rims on my next visit.)

Sunway huh, thats the next stop for me and D to check out. We'll be doin body kit and rims. The i'll be goin to Klang.

One question though BS, why do you use different tyre wide for front and back? If you can fit a 225 in, why not use the same for the front? Also, when i change my rims, could it be possible for the type guys to tell me that 225 will not go in, my only shoice is 205. What i mean is, can they give me such an excuse? How can i tell whats the maximum tyre width that can be fitted in?

I'm so glad 225 can go in....... Haha....

you need 7.5" or 8" rim in width in order to hold the 225 tyres nicely.
I'm using FR rim, front 7", rear 8". for 8" rim, 225 is kind of minimum for the 8" rim, else it will look ugly or funny.

your rim definitely define the range of tyres you can wear.
post at 6am in raya Day2? semangat wei...

Hidup HCC...!!! Haha.....

In this case, i get the rims all same size, then i can fit in same dimentions of tires right? Cool.... I'll be sure to get 7.5" rims, or 8" rims. Maybe i'll get 7.5".... hmm....... See the cost, haha... But if the back can fit in 225, then i'll definately get 225.

I'm goin tomorrow to klang. If i do end up getting the new rims, then i'll post the pics up. If not, i'll grab pics and report the prices.

D, i'm takin my friend with me. I go scout the place, then i see what shop is where, then when you're ready for your rims, we go aight?

Dyeu.. help me check out the price of the 17" tyres.. Be it 205, 215 or 225.. I am in dilemma now.. Coz I do sales job and my mileage is high.. So I am thinking of should I go for better ride or spend my money for better life? Wahahaha...

Muahahaha....!!! (have to laugh cause i am so happy...!!!)

I'll answer Sim's question 1st. Tyres are about rm50 ringgit cheaper in klang. A good comparison is that the Silverstone Evo 8 tyres were rm250 at Wangsa Maju, but Nankang was rm200 at klang (My understanding is that Nankang is a taiwan brand, and is better than that silverstone). Also, the Evo 8 was multi line thread (or somethin like that, i cant remember the exact term), and the Nankang was single thread line (is that right, i mean the term i'm using). So in my conclusion, rm50 ringgit cheaper, and better in quality. Same goes for 215, or 225. I even had a quote, i think dunlop 215 at rm200. Yokohama (not the battery) was at rm250 however for 205. So it all depends on your choice, but definately rm50 if not more cheaper than normal price (compared to wangsa maju, which i heard is the cheapest in kl area along with sungai long, am i wrong?)

Now to answer why i'm so happy. I bought the 17" (yes Spit, i know you knew 1st, i called ya from the shop.... haha....)

What ya'll think. Doesn't it look like the last pic of the top of the thread, but different a bit? I think it'll go well with the metallic pearl white colour i'm gonna re-spray my car.

Heres the thread, i think you know what i mean about the single line thread. This Nankang tires were rm200 in price. I would have taken the Yokohama, but hey, i'll use these 1st, then when i'm gonna change the backs, i'll go for the wider Yokohama.

The ppl there were really good too. I couldnt decide wheather to get 215, or get the recomended 205 (since BS was using 215 as well, i was confident i could fit these in). But since i couldnt decide, they took a pair of used 17" rims, hocked up a pair of 215/45's onto them, fitted it onto the front of my car, and let me have a test drive. Unfortunately, U-turn, full right or left turn did give out rubbing sound of the tire and the fender, so I took 4 205/45's. It was really nice of those guys to let me test out different tyres. But i still want to get wider backs, so i got the cheaper Nankang tires for now, and later on when i change pair by pair, i'll get larger backs.

My old rims. Take a wild guess how much i traded in those. RM550.......
My friend who took me was shocked. He was like, damn, i sold new nissan sentra stock rims and tyres which was less that 100km usage for only RM800, and these old pairs got RM550? But still, i traded in 15" rims, his was 14". I donno if it was a good deal, but it was better than what i expected, so i took the offer.

And here are some pics of my new babies being fitted in. Aaaa......
Pls excuse the pictures if they are not clear. I took the belows with my phone when i was in the shop.

Stability is high, but i really need more downforce for my back (i took a conner at 110km today, and the back really felt light)
What i'm feeling weird is that, my coupe is taking conners like it wants to drift. I mean, it feels like the car is sliding (or wants to slide) through the conner. Am i being sensitive, or is this an effect of 205/45's? Then again, my back is light, so it feels like its gonna swing, but not a 180degree spin, but all fours slide. I'm jus being weird.......... Haha..... Maybe i'm not used to the settings.

What i do know, damn its hard!!! Now i can feel every single crack on the road, damn..... Hence, suspension adjustables, here i come by the end of the month. I can take the bumpy ride, but it'll be horrible if i was to take a passanger. Looks like i'm gonna have to spend on suspensions after all and get that smooth suspension settings pronto!!!

Which reminds me, anyone has any good recomendations for suspensions? Or knows any body who can do for me? Or can get adjustables for my Coupe?

And that concludes my trip to Klang. What ya'll think, like the rims i choose?

Dyeu
aight. i will tell u when i am ready
hey.. where is this shop located?
pendamaran arr?

sim
better ride. u mod 1st and be guinea pig. if the parts suck.. tell us.. so we wont do the same and waste money. hohohohoho ><

Darren.. smart move.. but I won't fall into the trap.. wahahahaha...

my bad, i should have told you the tires is rubbing my fender at 225/40.

yes, i was on 205/45 Pontenza GIII, it give me a pain for uneven surface. which is why I recommend 16" earlier

RM 1,700 ++ on the road for 17 inch? Not bad also.......

My new 16 inch ICE rims plus 205/50/16 Maxxix Victra net of trade in cost me around 1700 ++ already in USJ 20

But the only reson I did not go to Klang was in case I needed to go back for readjustment/re alignment etc which will incurr petrol costs...

Haha..... No worries BS.....
But none of ya'll have said how ya'll like the rims........ Hahaha.......

If nobody minds (and i don think i wanna open a new thread for this topic), may i pls make this thread a "Sport Rims and Suspensions" thread? I cant seem to be able to change the topic title (may the Moderators can help me change this?)

I would really like to get a comfy ride, i don wanna feel every cracks on the road anymore (even the highways are terrible shape). Could anyone point me in a right direction to get some adjustable suspensions, or even nice comfy normal type suspensions, as long as it'll give me a comfy ride that'll not let me feel small cracks and bumps on the road. Not too expensive pls, i'm not a brand fussy person as well, so may i budget rm1500 or less?

Pls let me know if anyone knows someone who can hook me up with some nice suspensions. I prefer to get adjustables, and because of that, i don wanna find Mr Lee yet. Plus he last quoted me rm300, which is about the price outside as well, so adjustables seems more appealing to me.

And mocha, i saw on one of the threads when i was trying to find any suspension threads that have recomendations to places selling suspensions, that you're savind up for a new paint job. Did you get it? How much? Metallic?

"...but not VERY HAPPY with it ler..."..thats phrase means you need to change the rims...hahahaha

Haha....!

Heyya spit, where you went? Long time no hear.........

Sim, if you gonna get 17", you'll have to get suspensions (if your suspension's are not good enough). Like my RD1 which has been using the stock suspension for 10 years now, it has to go...... Also, 17" means 2*5/45, so you're gonna feel every crack on the road, and have to drive carefully not to hit pothole at high speed......

You're working in sales and need to travel, so i say suspension for a comfy ride is priority number 1.

Dyeu.. then maybe a 16" for me the next time? but not so soon la.. I need to touch up other parts first..

Spit.. what's ruining your life? Wahahahaha...
