something we missed out!!!

After all the topics about performance parts and crazy mods... there is one thing about lancer/evo that we always tend to miss out...
besides the mods.. lets list down some other parts of the car that we need to maintain and fix
questions on how?where?why? these items fail!

1) aircon
2)power window
3)the immobiliser on ignition key (lancer /evo7 onwards)

any other items/suggestions added are most welcome!!

Ok, i got something to share abt de immobiliser key over here!!! Myself bought 2 new keys all de way from Japan for my E9!!! And after 'grinding' de key profile tht is exactly de same as de other keys tht fit my car... I got to find somebody to re- programme de immobiliser chip for all my keys!!!

Before programming, de key can start my car... But in less than 3 seconds, de engine dies off!!! This proved tht my immobiliser is working very well... :_: Then i decided to go to Mitsu Selayang Msia to do my re-programming!!!

De mech plug in a computer n a key to start de re-programming process... Mmm... I guess it took onli 10minutes to do all my keys!!! He told me, even he himself dunno abt my immobiliser code... Once de computer pluged out from de car, de code wil vary when u re-plug in de 2nd time...

My power window on co-driver side failed to work... but when i push the button it has a tick-tick sound.. but the window does not wind down... is it the motor problem? if it is, is it the same as all lancer model? mine is ori E6.

For ur case, if there is any tick tick sound n ur window stil cant wind down, i think one of de connecting rod inside oredi broken!!! De connecting rod is made from plastic la... And myself did manufactured it for 1 of de car maker... LoLzzzzzzzz... :_: Its actually 1 of de most easily broken item for all car window!!! Even in BMW n Merc oso same thing!!! Wear n tear kinda thingy!!! Got to change!!! Not sure whether Lancer's fit ur car not!!!

Hi All,

Sorry to interrupt but i find another thing miss out is the front lamp n tail lamp. Anyone here install all 3 HID conversion kit for D2S/HB3/HB4 ? It must be crazy if lights all together..hahaha...anyone install and can share what type of HID suitable for evo E8MR front lamp ?

Another question, D2S same socket as H7 ?

I ask this as i found out my evo doesn't come with HID !!! #$@^!$
Normally for the low beam where does the ori hid ballast located ? beside the fender ? as i'm trying to install a HID but ian't do not know what type of brand light source is greater or same as well known brand philips.....?

HID Seller.Talk to him once. He told me to check whether my bulb or the ballast got error.
The funny thing, no HID installed here ! !@#%!% So plan to get a new set on the low beam side (D2S).
ermm....i came across to know that 1 of my low beam lens got 50% dented (1 layer covering the ori layer)
causing light source output become half during night. Tried to wipe it but still the same, something like
a layer of oil applied on the lens. Anyone experience this b4 ?

i tot E7 is Xenon (not all 7 come with xenon though)? Only E8 and above is HID

Xenon Lamps = HID (High Intensity Discharge) Lamps.

Some cars are single Xenon/HID, means main lamp is HID and high beam is halogen.

Bi-xenons will have HID lamps for both main and high beams.

I think de last 2001 batch of E7 onli come fitted with HID... Of cause all 2002 E7 hv it... But those manufactured in 2000 n earlier part of 2001 is not fitte with HID!!! And I think all GT-A do hv HID as well!!!

yup... only last batch got HID.. rest are all xenon lights...

where is a good place to fix aircond?
