all SEG sifu ......help me...
my car is AE111 97, i plan to fix rear disc brake
is it can use AE111 levin or AE101 levin rear disc brake ?
just fix or need change other things ?
how much for 1 pair rear disc brake ?

Both ae101 or ae110 can be use. Just plug n play...totally no cut n welding. If ae92 wan to use ae101/ae110 than u need a bit cut n welding on ur rear arm.

jordy is correct.
a set of chopshop conditioned one should be around rm400 including labour, but with whatever brake pad that set came with, if u want chg new brake pad, then u kena top-up $ for the pads.

hmm seems like it had increase price... last time i bought mine only RM250/set c/w handbrake cable and brakepad... but thats a year ago lah :P

labour to install is around 50~80 depends on your mech....

yup...tat is last time price...now seems like ppl are upgrading their rear brakes from drum to d/brake.

if i change to rear disc brake, i still can u back the 14" rim...

after further discussion with some people... i found out that drum brakes are more reliable then the disc brakes especially if it is on the rear wheel.... more braking power...

Yes it might be true but not necessary..... diskbrake can hold up to at least 650 brake horse power....but i'm not sure about Drum. AS you can see...mostly Sports car are equip with front n back diskbrake. Do more research than u'll know which one is better...... diskbrake actually has more brake power than drum and much more realiable.

oh really?? ok.... cos my friend got 1 bad experience using disk brakes... he changed from drum to disk and apparently like no brake at all... mayb setting problem kua..

how about the ABS brake system....?
it will give function to rear disc brake...?
or no, cox orginal just in front only..?

it depends .... most car is only for the front...but some certain high end car.... is both front n back.

juz wanna tumpang thread, i got 1 set of AE101 rear disc wanna let go, together with dual layer master brake pump, for details please pm me, or contact me @ 0125300063, ivan, thanks ya~!

i have change just my SEG ( Original 4AFE - Auto ) rear disc brake only .
...not change the brake pump to dual layer
so braking system have been improve...
but if compare with my SE ( full half cut 16V 4AGE - Manual ) , my SE is better .....very makan

so i have some question .....
1) Is it my SE brake pump is dual layer ?
2) Have any difference between Auto & Manual ?
3) AE92 , AE100 & AE111 levin brake pump dual layer are same ?
4) How much for the dual layer brake pump ?
5) Just change the existing single layer change to dual layer , how about the piping for brake ?
just use back all....?

1) Dunno
2) No
3) Dunno
4) $150
5) Just ask your mechanic to install. (just open your wallet lah. For me cost another $150 to install) Piping need adjust/bend a little bit. Strut tower wall also need to ketuk a bit, make way for the bigger double layer pump.

I was not satisfied with the double layer pump, steel brake lines, rear disk& front twin port brake setup of my seg.
Wanted to upgrade to front 4 pot! But other sifu's suggested I try better brake pads first, don't waste money on 4 pot. And they were right. Using better pads with my current brake setup does give better brake feel for my AE111.

1. go check out ae101-wong's sales thread, i think he got a pic there u can refer

2. mine last time double-layer on manual, and now double-layer on auto.
doesn't really feel any diff..

3. donno

4. ask ivan. arnd 150 like that

5. need to adjust, i think for double pump, there is another outlet that need to connect to the
brake hose one.. something like connecting via a t-joint

no idea how makan it is... although the diameter of the disc is larger but the brake pad are still the same size and doesnt cover the entire disc, sort of 3/4 of the diameter only.

and these are same as the front disc as well, coz i'd just bought a set of levin front disc+caliper+knuckle. the disc size is larger but the brake pad are still same as my local SEG front disc brake pad -- disc diameter bigger but the contact faces are still same.

i have yet to install the disc, will be done on coming or next weekend..

but i believe what other sifu said are true, get a good set of brake pads doest help alot in braking... sifu-sifu can recomemend a good brand?
