Hi guys, My new car is arriving soon and i'm quite excited about it. But i need some opinions from you guys. All these while, my definition of running in and maintaining a healthy engine is as follows: 1. For the 1st 1000km, drive around below 2.5k rpm (if possible 2k rpm). 2. For the subsequent 5000km, drive around below 4k rpm. 3. Rev all i like after step 2. but however, just today, my boss taught me another way to run in my engine a. For the 1st 1000km, drive around below 4k rpm. During this period, slowly rev up from idle to around 4k rpm and then slowly let off the gas. Change oil at 500km mark and then go for the free service at 1000km mark. b. Drive as i like after step 1 and try changing engine oil at around 4000km. So, I'm not sure which method is right.. could some taikors give me some insight?
