Just got myself a copy of "Turbo and Hi Performace" October issue (me cheapskate, buy back issues)

Quite interesting write up about the Remotr Turbo system including dyno charts Check it out guys.

mounted turbo undercarraige...
downpipe goes straight out of the rear of the car ;)

THe pics in this magazine shows the turbo is mounted away at the rear of the car beside the muffler.

Suprisingly, dyno shows good healthy dose of power and lag is hardly noticiable.

ooo, read an online article bout it before...

heat is largely reduced, but need really long pipings

something like that..
but thats 4 drag/racing..

street use they mount that turbin almost at rear..

it works same as any other turbo engine but the turbine is placed further away from the engine bay so that the turbine wont be running so high tempretures...like that they can eliminate intercooler, water and oil cooling...but oil lubrication for turbine i not so sure...

lubrication just pull a damn long steel braided line lor...
easy ma
malaysia boleh ;)

izzit something like this ?.
hahahaa... put some egg and milo beside the turbo. after race can eat..

haih

more american stuffs. like that, HKS will be selling long piping for remotely mounted turbo... open your rear bonnet.... see the T51R-SPL in there... not your ICE! hahahahaha... could be a good thing though.... imagine... run your intercooler in your rear bonnet and put electric fans on the i/c. pergh... damn kewl! hehehe

What car was featured for the article? I remembered seing an article of a featured Blitz MRS with the turbo mounted way down the engine near the muffler. Runs no intercooler as well.

I've also seen a featured Ford (RS Lookalike) NA turbocharged, with the turbo sitting low near the oil sump pan level, and they need to use an external fuel pump to even pump oil back to the pan just because of the low mounting turbo location.

wwooowwww...wtf ?? panas la dalam kabin muahahahaha

erm about the turbo mounted at the back...the downpipe size must be choose carefully la..if not the will get lag. if the pipe too small to counter lag, it will lost horsepower...very hard tune la

this car using dry-ice-intercooler like abg dude's black monster kancil la..that's why got 750 hp woohoooo

owh..so, that's not an issue of power anynmore la..its the cause of the driver, traction and gear ratios

i've seen one mounted sort of below and further back, underneath, near gearbox in a mitsubishi mirage 4g15. He could only run low psi to reduce lag, and was running it in - oil leaked down and along straight onto turbo down below underneath - so much smoke.....

anyway, 88kw/120HP @ front wheels. 1.5L 5psi chipped.
