Gang may i know who is d ccl ?
i cant see anybody in such a name...hes in which topic ha?

1. i got a volvo club friend who can get volvo halfcuts for cheaper. contact me. or if you wanna try your luck, go to behind subang airport... Hakitrade. They do have lotsa stuff there but prices slightly high if u dunno them well.

2. ok as for the 240, any engines from the 240/740/940 will plug and play. either the NA or Turbo version will fit no problem. I personally done with a 940turbo in my 240GL. The mechanic who done this conversion for me is pretty knowledgable by now bcoz when problem arises he solves it or i'll source from the net some instructions and give it to him. so now he can do a transplant no problemo ;)

3. 1/2 cut of a 940 turbo 2.0l (not the 2.3l) is about 3k+ a lil. for the 940turbo 2.3l will be about 4.5k+-. installation charges will be about 2k+- including wiring etc etc. but please do expect to change parts as u go along as the car is an old car and many things that you do not normally see is due for change.

4. lim. this guy in puchong, is where we volvo club members go to for transplants and upgrades and service. his job is good and not messy like some. at least he is fussy on the quality produced so he is ok. moreover he himself drives a 940turbo for past 10 years. so he knows the engine inside out.

5. dun say consequences. say advantages ;) for a 240 to have a 940turbo engine, you will save fuel. coz it'll be carburator to EFI OR mechanical injection to EFI. damn well powerful. and as old volvos engine are all damn reliable too ;) and if you really do the car up... hehe you'll be eatin merz kompressor for breakfast, bmw 5series for lunch and new volvos for dinner... provided they're stock lah

960 you might have a lil problem fitting.
its a 6 cylinder.
dashboard and seats should 99% be able to be fitted into your 240
door panel i dunno!
Hakitrade got 960s.

PCD for 240 is
5x108
offset is about +23 to 25

then 940 is bak wheel is it?...how much ha d h/power..abt 160-180 ? injection/carb
sorry ya just in learning stage abt Volvo's
Beside the vovlo's cannot put anything else like sr20/old supra someting like that in 2 240 or better stik to stock enjin with d lates like 940.

guys i saw some BMW E30 in local web(bmwclub.com.my...damn cool..is that they all use d stock enjin or convert 2 supra/sr20's...very nice look man ! :)

tq :)

240 can fit rb20 with major mod needed to be done on the longshaft.
it can also fit 1jz/2jz no problem. just gotto custom the crossmember a lil to hook up the tranny.

940 turbo 2.3l is about 170bhp. fully EFI running jetronic LH2.0/2.2/2.4 depending on year.

850 engine can be put into a 240. S80 T6 twin turbo engine can put into 240. is just whether u got the money and if you want to pass JPJ or not. with fwds engines into a 240 engine mounting needs alot of modification. which is a big nono for JPJ.

as for the rim
5 spoke?
it is basically up to you
you can put in japanese rims or fwd volvo rims or BMW or Merz rims. but u need to custom make a spacer to fit them in. 300+ for a pair.
there are only 2(or three) 16" original volvo RWD rims.
Hydra and Galaxy.
these models are plug and play. no rub running 205/55/16.
there are no 17" for rwds from volvo.

CcL... if one change the stock calipers n rotors from a Nissan Skyline R32, there should be plenty of rims for it, right?

keekkee no need for that marrrrr
want good braking just get the later 240 ventilated disc front calipers, get slotted brembo disc with EBCs and u'll stop faster than alot of cars
for me i dare not touch the braking sytem bcoz i sked any failure and i can't brake!
stock is good enuff... betta than 740 and 940s. ;)
and if want other PCD rims just get spacers lah... best option!

volvo 240 brakes already 4 pots wei! just change better pads and disc. bleed ur brakes properly, or get goodridge hoses... im sure that will be the ultimate for a 240.

Aiyo... it seems Volvo has many interesting mods... my dad sold off his 740 Turbo back in late 90s due to financial problems... nice car though... now if only I could find it back... CAB 9988.
