allooo bro, sis & great sifus out there..
just wanna ask this noob question..
i'm using stock wira 1.5..
what is the most suitable rims size also tyre size..
not stock rims & tyre lol..:_:
coz plannin to upgrade..
meanin what max rims size, width, offset..
with no mod, no spacer.. just plug & drive..
also what the best tyre size, width for the rims..
any other tips also welcome..
thanx in advance for all of ur advice..
huahahaha...

if u wanna safe, its recommended u just upgrade 1" more of ur stock...if upgrade too much, scare brake suffer...unless u going to upgrade ur brake system also lah....not only brake suffer, alot of thing like pick-up also affected, den top speed, den ur pocket also ...lol

Most importantly, your speedometer reading is affected too. Then you won't know if you're indeed speeding or not. Best to stick to 1 size bigger. For instance if your stock is 185/65/14, then you should use at maximum 195/55/15. The difference is minimal and acceptable.

There's one Iswara at my place using such a huge 17" rims. The clearance between his tyres and wheel arch is so minimal. Almost non existent i'd say. Wonder how it feels carrying 3 guys at the back. It'll finish off the wheel arch in no time.

yeah.... choose wisely which rim size u want... not to say the bigger the better... like sonictheory said, not only ur brakes will suffer, ur underpower engine also will suffer....most important it wont defect ur car performance and maintain reasonable clearance between wheel and arch....

as for ur problem, 16" will be the max size i'll choose... 15" rims also good, and performance wont decrease that much.... depends u want it to look good or goes good....

i dint know much about d wide... but d size... of d rim... 15 is suitable for your 1.5
u wont lost your bhp as well

Like that ar.....is 15" recommended for iswara aeroback? mine is 195/50/15...some more have to put spacer in front. ok or not???

actually depends on d engine 1...
but for those car like civic ek or eg... wira... its better go for 15...
sure wont lose bhp... 16... still can la...
but 17... u will lose bhp n fc more higher n when u go to genting that time...
u will know that your car slower than last time.. but what u get if 17 or 16 is d look... damn nice n ying... but lose power lo

ooo...
thanx a lot guys..
now can think a bit lol..
what about the offset of the rims..
what the max offset that i can put in without adding any spacer..
coz last time went to h/c.. many option with many kind of offset..
want to buy takut plak..
thanx in advance for all ur advice..

yeah.... i would say 15" is the max u wants to go for if ur car is stock standard.... 14" is better for good pickup....

i'm also using 195/50/R15.... so far so good... jz that on my max turning, the inner wheel scratches the inner side of the wheel arch a little bit... nothing serious...

spacer is needed at the front if ur rims has 8 lugs (2 PCD).... u need that spacer because there is 4 nut heads protruding out from ur wheel hub... u need to clear that nut head to keep ur rims stable in place.....

but still, i do heard cases where some dont need spacer although they are using 8 lugs rims.... i personally feel it is quite dangerous lor...

jz my 2 cents...

8 lugs with 2 pcd only need spacer??
how if the rims 8 lugs but has only 1 pcd..
also need spacer or not??
heheheh.. me donno lar..
don't shoot lor..

i think also need kua... unless the rim is 4lugs lar...

coz the other 4 unoccupied lugs will be sitting on top of the bolt head... this is dangerous lor..... ur wheel will vibrate easily....

oooo.. ic ic..
how bout offset..
what d max offset that stock wira can use..
coz so many offset rims can get today..

bro slipar,

those rims with 2 pcd is bcos it fits these 2 kinda pcd's car (for example: u can always see taiwan rims with 8holes, PCD100 & PCD114.3, with offset around 45, it wud fit from wira, iswara, civic, corolla, bla bla bla... alot of cars also can use), it was design & made that way, so, it wouldnt need u spacer.

spacer is used when the rim's offset doesnt really suit the correct rim offset that shud b fit in to ur car. for example: MR2 need offset around +38's rim, but if the owner wanna put a offset +48 rim into his car, he need to put 10mm spacer in order to look & fit nice.

offset that suits wira is between +38 (bit out fr de fender) to +48 (more inside the arch).

hope these helps...

if u driving wira, no headache lor...
only saga iswara need spacer to clear the bolt head on the wheel hub.... wira no need coz dont have bolt head protruding out....

no worries mate...

waaa that really helps bro..:_:
thanx so very very much.. this d info i been searching..
huahahah.. now can search for d right size..
mmm.. but one more thing.. how bout the width..
if too broad d tyre can touch inner side of arch when cornering right..
correct me if wrong..
baru belajar maa..

Wanna ask something .... After changing your rims or tyres, do you have to go for balancing ?

the width that can fit into wiras are maximum 8in at the back, & front if 7.5in shudnt b a prob cos i've seen GTi with 18in x 7.5in. tyre might scratch the inner wall while u full turn ur steering, but tat shudnt b a big problem.
correct size of tyre match with correct size of width is very important. for example, if u're getting a 6.5in or 7in width's rim (which is common size for 16 & 17in rim), u shud use width size 205, which is just nice. the use of wider tyre will give you more traction, & if one's car is not powerful enough, better dont use too wide tyres.
& lastly, as long as the offset of correct & the use of tyre size is right, it shudnt have any problem scratching the arch.

nitrus & skywalker,
balancing after fitting tyre is necessary. it is to balance up ur tyre so tat when its running on the road, it wudnt eat 1 side.
unless ur jus using the tyres for awhile, or drifting, no need to spend the money to balance it lo. cos if not mistaken, balancing a tyre cost bout RM5.
