Bought one of those cheaper China/Taiwan head units (they come in so many brand names I get confused).

After only a few months (I hardly use this car) the player goes crazy - turns on and off by itself, volume starts increasing for no reason, and more. Other times, it performs great with no problems. But it will suddenly start its nonsense again, anytime. Now I cannot switch it off when it is on.

The shop (the player is already past the warranty period) asked me to reset the player. Have done it many times with no effect. They want to take the set and check it for a few days - extremely inconvenient for me.

Before I send the player back, would appreciate your views/advice on this. Thanks.

i believe their QC is questionable. Instead of sending for repair, i highly suggest u to change the HU altogether

I suppose you are right. Any recommendations, as branded HUs are pretty expensive and as I mentioned in my post, this car is seldom used.

by knowing it is made in china.....dun need send for repair, the cost of repair may more than the HU itself....
