Dear Sifu/Taiko,
Need advice on the setting for my amp. Here is some pic for ur reference on my amp....Thanks in advance....

There is no such thing as your amp can have the same settings as mine.

This is due to a lot of factors. For example, speakers, wires and even the car we use.

There fore, it would be even better if you could also supply the details of the speakers you are feeding this baby too!

Oh ya, doing GAIN control please very much please use your diagram instruction as that is the best way where all sifus will have to say the a,b,c in ICE tuning. I think it is in the Level Control Checklist.

Ok cheerio...

sorry for lack info, because english no good enough....:p my problem is after i tuned all the settings to initial (everything is 0), my mid speaker vibrate like hxll when the low freq(bass) have applied......previous settings is set by shopper but the bass is too keng on my sub woofer....that's why i decide to adjust to initial......hmmm....i'm using kenwood KFC-XX (forget already) in the front, and Boston XX(forget also) as my sub woofer....i have remove the rear speaker.....that's mean i using a 4 channel amp to boost my 2 mid speaker and 2 sub woofer.....oh ya...i have a preamp attached to my low cost ice also....

the RCA cables from your HU goes to the input side. if u have 2 rca out use both, if not use 1. if u have 3 use front & sub rca.

the mode im not sure, most probly for u is 4

crossover for channels 1,2 (used for components) set as high pass, and for ch 3,4 (used for sub) set as low pass

low pass setting set around 50-80Hz

high pass setting set around 50-80Hz

adjust both to what u feel is nice...

level adjusting can just follow the instruction given.

thanks for all inputs.....crossover for channel 1 and 2 is upper row and 3 & 4 is lower row?? next, all setting should be same for both rows??

sorry i cant really tell from the diagram....

it is ok....there is no explanation on user manual also.....anyway, thanks for u all.....

How do you setup your system? Means how many amps you have, and others...
low pass is for sub, high pass for tweeter and full range is for normal speakers.
For your mid, the crossover switch have to turn to full range, not low pass.
On the mode, you can select to 4 channel. Hope this can help you abit.
From the picture you give, channel 1,2 is for your speakers, channel 3,4 is for your sub.
The problem is, the amp spec you never specify. Maybe front channels power lower than rear channels. Just my guess... But for a start you can try to switch the crossover switch first.

for mids or tweets both need to be high pass, but for tweeter have to see the capability of the built in crossover can go how high. normally ppl use for component set, also high pass. in his amp it only goes to 300Hz, definitely cant use for tweeter high pass, but no problem for mids or component set. if the crossover can go up to 6000Hz for example then it can do tweeter high pass.

my compenent set comes with 2 passive xover, 2 mid speaker and 2 tweeters.....maybe my setting on passive xover is too high already.....feel like high freq sound too high.....after my "superb" adjusting on my amp....now high and low freq are too high......sorry for poor english......

your passive crossover can set meh? good la. look for att (attenuation) or tweeter level something like that. something like can set +3, 0 or -3. so set the lowest la and try that. nothing to do with the amp which are settings between your sub & the mids (lowpass & highpass). also if u feel the tweeter is too bright just play with the aiming & positioning of the tweeter itself. eg) aim away from u, or aim to windscreen, or aim across each other, etc...

Ok, your passive crossover can leave it, but put the tweeter to -3db, then your sound will not be too sharp. The 2 channel for speakers you put to HPF or full, this you have to try with the bass and treble gain at 50%. The balance 2 for sub have to set at LPF, since the bass for you is too strong then you can set it on your pre-amp by reducing the gain of sub and set to 40db(40 or 63, I not that sure, forgot already)

the hpf to the speakers should be HP not full, or else mids will play sub bass and koyak at high volumes. low pass for sub should also be higher than 40Hz (not db) or else u wont get any normal sub bass u hear in songs. set them both around 60 to 80 and then play-2 a bit.

for component set.....you need to set high pass around 60Hz and above.....
they can't play that low frequency....that's a sub's job below 60hz

hi wanna tumpang ask. what if we turn ooff the HPF on the amp. how will the compset sound? hoe this is not stupid question la.

if the filter is turned off, it will play full range. no danger to your tweeters, just the mid will play frequencies lower than it is supposed to.

ohh...this is a problem for me, because my xover is installed inside 'door cover'..actually what is the different of -3, 0, 3db? is that really important for expert?
