currently iam using a 4g63 engine and use a semi-sintetic Shell oils..15-50w

first time i try my oil tempt will usually go as far as 90'c...and when i WOT the car it will go up 120'c Max (this one oso i wack damn kau kau)

after i put in a manual boost controller and increase the boost by only 0.2 bar...i notice my oil temp go up faster...from 90'c to go to 120 is only a wack away (no need to drive the car really hard like before...just a bit hard will do)... and it can go up 130 if i wack it hard like before....and when i take the car to sepang it goes to a record of 150'c....

but at the time being theres no such thing as my engine "draining engine oil" it will makan...but normal la turbo car it makan a bit only....

do anybody have this experience before???....if i lower down my boost i dun think it work...it still be the same i guess....

thanks for ur help

Check AFR? Oil Cooler ok..

150'c.. man you got balls.

huh? whats the connection between AFR and oil cooler?? i dun understand...if ur AFR lean does it can affect ur oil temp to be higher??

and ppl say...if ur oil cooler raise up...ur water temp will too....but when my temp in sepang up to 150'c my water temp still maintain...wonder why

At 150 C, oil viscosity deteriorates rapidly.

Are you using a 1.3 bar radiotor cap?

Bro, i believe you had a lean fuelling at high rpm. Better get it check quickly or get it tune ASAP if you wanna run more laps in sepang. One more, thing always have a habit to do radiator flush everytime before going down to track.

but my water temp still maintain at the same position like before...curentlly oil temp go sky high...(than before la)

lean AFR can result to oil temp rising???....hm....

Engine oil is circulated inside the turbo's CHRA as lubrication and cooling medium.

It is likely when you WOT @ overboost, the turbo was glowing red hot, thus increasing the oil temp altogether.

You might want to richen the A/F ratio.

As for water temp not registering any increase. THe reason being you are using a higher rating radiotor cap.

If not mistaken, stock radiotor caps for 4G63 are 0.9 bar (threshold 102 degree C)

When you switch to a 1.1 bar cap, you raised the threshold prior to overheating.

Wat that means is your radiotor cap's presure relive valve will remain closed until it reaches 1.1 bar of water pressure (which is about 130 degree C)

I hope you're using aftermarket silicon radiotor hoses to cope with the added pressure.

i dun use after market radiator cap....maybe its 0.9....my engine is 4g63 evo 6...ok...i check my air fuel again...

Better you check with an expert at any workshop....some can just give free check..

put the HKS oil cooler thermostat yesterday in N1....the temp looks better....but it still can go up to 100'c

ive talked to desmond and he say sometimes the sensor maybe spoil and read wrongly....since my raising oil temp didnt afffect my water temp at all....my water temp around 82'c to 90'c...

ive ask a second oppinion from my friend that deals with a lot of EVO engine b4...and he say that he seldom heard that evo is having problem with the standart oil cooler and with a standard engine...he too says that the sensor might give false reading...

what branded oil temperature gauge are you using? Pls let them know to avoid buy that brand.....he he he he he

bro,

if you using Haltech, you can ask your tuner to set it to pump more fuel into your
engine at a certain temperature, as fuel would help to cool down the cylinder walls.

iam using the original mitsubishi 3 meters....the one come with the car...

gti88,

really?? hm...let me check....i putting an e.c.u....i see how it work first...

kekekek

thanks for you all helping me!!

harlo hanafy, a thermostat shouldn't improve your oil cooling efficiency. all it does is just block oil flow until a certain temp before it starts allowing oil to flow. This is to reduce the time where the oi is at low temperature (to reduce sludge buildup)

might want to check your temperature with another temperature sender and/or gauge

i myself have oil temp problems with my 63t, but i attribute it to lack of air flow / plugged up 2nd hand oil cooler xD
