emm...i've read from somewhere that those wanting to upgrade their braking system, they can't fit the smaller calipers from s14/z32 brakes (280mm rotor) with the rotors from a gtr32 (296mm, crossdrilled)

but, is it possible to retrofit gtr32 calipers with the smaller (280mm) rotors?

them calipers look real yummy coming in at slightly less than 4kg a side...making it lovely for an upgrade to 4 pots...not only for nissan cars...hahaha

thanks in advance....hope sifus can answer my queries...

cheers

yes..
can fit since the brake caliper knuckle is same .. but it just higher.

so you can fit 280mm rotor but i think there is big gap on it
from the height

hmm...gtr32 caliper is the 2nd lightest, compared to the fairlady 4-pots...emm...which "big gap" are you referring to?

all the nissan sumitomo 4 pots accept the same pad shape rite?

cmng...maybe can meet you one day and talk talk abit...hahaha ^_^

cheers

One caliper is designed to fit 295mm
one is designed to fit 280mm

not to forget the thickness of the rotor as well...

280mm rotors from s13/s14 is 22mm thick
gtr32 ranging from 30mm to 32mm

methink so la...dun fark kau me la...

S13 = 280 x 22

all Silvia, GTS 32 4 pot = 280 x 30
R32 GTR = 295 x 32

GTS 33 = 295 x 30

R34 GTS = err 305 x 30
if i not mistaken.. no chance to measure it real life

What about weight? Got the specs ar sifoo? :)

Weight no idea.
where can get correct weight one
new rotor and used got different in weight

Caliper all is aluminum except Z32 NA 90, Silvia which is cast iron

hmmm...8mm diff. in thickness...so, shud be no problem to fit S14/S15's caliper S13's rotor?

err 8mm in brake mean a lot
:(

any cheap way to improve S13's brake arr?
can fit S14's rotor onto S13's hub and strut? and use S14's caliper...

direct bolt on la
just drill to PCD 114.13 x 4 only la

yup, 1 thing good about NISSAN is the bolt on part, almost all can be interchanged, especially the brakes...

NISSAN boleh! :)

...but me dun have nissan... :(

the weights of these cast aluminium calipers are definitely lighter than stock oem from most cars...

...and of course, dun la fark kau me...if i'm wrong...

CORRECTION!

R32 GTS 32 4 pot = 280 x 30
R32 GTR = 296 x 32 (not 295)

GTS 33 = 296 x 30 (not 295)

R34 GTS = err 310 x 30 (not 305)

these are correct!

also be warned that the thickness of the disc for the 4WD R32 GTS-4 is only 26, not 30. Diameter same.

ye thanks guys for all your replies...

i think most aluminium alloy calipers *4 pots la* should be in the 4-5 kg region, while most single piston sliding calipers found OEM are 5 kg and above...

cheers ppl..thanks again
