Hi,

Currently using the 2.0 Accord 2 generations back, and thinking of upgrading to the new Accord. Thinking of getting the base 2.0 model, unless someone can give me a good reason why 2.4 is better. Fuel consumption wise, 2.0 is better right. Does a different in 30K worth it?
Could I get the 2.4l goodies placed in the 2.0 car?
One friend of mined managed to get his 1.8 Civic but with the 2.0 kit when he purchased it.
Thanks

Question: how did your friend get his 2.0 kitted FD1?

Honda never released a VTi-S spec of the FD1 AFAIK. What type of kit.

As for the CP1/CP2 dilemma, depends on your wallet.

Fuel consumption, not much different IMHO. I dont really bother about FC figures, since Hondas are at the forefront.

As for the 30k difference, do you need the extra 30PS? Do you need combination leather seats (semi-leather lah), do you need HID, cruise control, wing-mirror indicators, paddle shifters, 17 inch wheels, satellite radio controls.

If yes, then the CP2 is your pick.

if you can settle with a bit less power, a 'luxurious' beige interior, weedy 16 inch wheels, nonon lights, and pocket some extra 30k for your child's tuition fees, then the 2.0 variant is your pick.

The balls are in your pocket, court, rather.

Answer: He just went to Honda sales and wanted the 1.8 to look like 2.0, so Honda did, he did pay extra.

What is the difference normal audio and the premium audio, and what is this satellite control radio? Weirdly the 2.4l has a better fuel consumption compared to the 2.0l

u can come join me and bien at myhavoc,...
we will even teach u how to make ur "2gen back accord to look like the jdm version, plonk in a hR and make extra 40ps above the CP2, and many many more, for a lot lot less"

hehehe!!!

Car for executive, not ah beng. The moment start fiddling with the car, send wrong message

ermm... putting modulo kits (official n very2 expensive) also considered ah beng? perhaps the accord here is too highly regarded as an exec car kot...

Meaning your friend just went to a Honda dealership and asked for the 17 inch wheels, HID and wing mirror indicators?

Which dealership is this?

And did he get the interior of the FD2 as well? Leather, satellite controls (satellite, meaning remote, on the wheel spokes) side airbags and 6 disc changer?

I never knew we could do that. I'll ask my dealership manager if we could provide that.

ps: there's a CP2 running around here with 19 inch rollers. Not ah beng to me. Ah beng (ricer) is when you slap on some VVT-i emblems, fibre skirts, nasty wing and some blinking lights. Now that's ah beng/ricer.

I dig cars that are tastefully modded. Subtle kit, lowered stance, big wheels. tasteful

Sex on wheels

AFAIK, what you see is what you get man.

yeah... nicely and tastefully modded cars should not convey the "ah beng" message la bro... otherwise honda would not have launched the modulo kits.

want an example of tasteless mods... take a look here... in french though

Yes, you can ask them to change the car interior/exterior remaining the same engine, prepared to pay the extra cost. If they don't want to do it, is because abit lazy.
Post economic crisis few years back, they even put the high end goodies in the 2.0l standard accord to woo people to buy, and a RM500 deposit with credit card was accepted. Difference based on dealership.

Only modifications which are not ah beng are the one which can save fuel, even saving fuel without compromising performance/does not require some scuba tank in the boot. Changing emblem logo, placing spoilers, etc to look nice but increase weight is a stupid thing to do. You are only boasting yourself. Someone wrote about this, will find and post it here soon.

BTW, how much would a 2.0 Accord Jan 2001 (executive-with all those bodylex, wood trims etc) cost now. Planning to sell this car and get the new Accord. 66k km mileage, 1 female user.

I'm still confused with the part " you can get the interior of the more expensive car"

Does this mean that your friend's FD1 has the black/blue dashboard, blue leather, side airbags, steering wheel radio buttons and such?

Are you sure?

I've never heard of this upgrade. If there is, I should have told my uncle to do this when he recently bought his i-DSI City. He should've upgraded to the better VTEC interior.

Unless you are talking about upgrading to leather seats, the leather seats are done by a 3rd party, and not thru the dealership per se, it is usually done thru the sales advisor.

I have never read, or come across such upgrades in the brochures. I do see parts from Modulo, but no options for a leather interior for the FD1 though.

As for the CM4 having the CM5 interior, it came from the factory, in the CM4 VTi-S model. The base VTi did not have leather and such. The VTi-S did. The VTi-S received what the CM5 VTi-L had. Leather seats, better radio, cruise. It was not an option, it was a different model.

Please clarify this, sir.

I would like to be enlightened.

After seeing the car again, he got only minor touchups, not the entire interior upgrade. Radio buttons and leather seats only. I don't know how he got it, I was also abit shocked.

BTW, this thread is side tracking.
What is the difference between premium audio and normal audio?
And how come the 2.4l has 17.2km/l and 2.0 has 17km/l fuel consumption...

u wont notice the 0.2km/l dude,... believe me,...
and never believe all the words/figures printed on spec brochures/etc,... especially the FC

2.0 liter..underpower for big car like accord - so FC a bit high than 2.4 liter..modern cars nowadays altho got very big cc/liter FC wise are very saving..

engines:smokin: are becoming more efficient is wat i mean..

About the leather vs fabric seats.

What are the pros and cons of the seats?
