Need Advice..

It was 11.10 a.m. today,at Jalan Kewajipan, I was turning right down to kesas from The Summit. When a car from my right came and bang right on my right rear fender.

The driver of the car, a Waja was on my right. I was in the second lane turning.
The lady claimed she was about to turn when I moved to her lane.
I was turning and I saw her coming straight.
She wasnt turning as she claimed.
As a matter of fact, I'm not sure she was going to turn.
You may not believe me..
But tat's not the case.

We stopped by the road side and stepped down to talk.
Once out, the lady asked me how? what are you gonna do about it while pointing to her scratched front.
"Either you pay me..or you fixed it" said her.
As I was still strong in my opinion tat's its not my fault, I refuse to pay.
Before we leave, the lady, now already in car, asked me to walk over to her window.
She asked me for my license.
I gave and her son inside the car, noted it down, probably my ic and address from the license too as I was standing under the sun for about 3-4 minutes.
I got her license number too. But it's an old license with only 6 digits.
When I asked for her ic, she refused.

Now what I wanna know is, did I do the wrong thing by letting her have my license number and all?

never ever give ur license and ic to them whatever the situation. As they have no authority to ask for it.

go make polis report, and get the claim on ur fender...u did noted down her car registration number right?

well u will be charged in hit and run lol... just make sure go make report within 24hours... state the other party number plate... and if u got her name just note it down too... let the I/O decide whois wrong...

from my personal perception, it was the lady's fault who bang your side, but it is up to the traffic police to judge whose fault is that.

never hand over your IC to others, they have not authority to hold your IC. And you may not know what he/she will do, what if she sped of after she got your IC?

i read an article on newspaper, if traffic can't judge whose fault is that in the accident, both party will get "saman". But I can't confirm this news, because I read long time ago.


if you don't report, and she make story in front of the police, will she able to do the insurance claim from yours. Am i right?

she is not police , no need give her IC/license.....just mouth tell can jo

nah... the I/O will only issue samans to the one at fault... only certain cases both driver get samans but not all...

ok first of all, chill... :) accidents happen! that is why our government make it compulsory for every motor vehicle to have 3rd party insurance policy, in order to cover other road users and properties whilst we are driving. and oso, the reason why financier make sure ur vehicle is insured comprehensively.

when there are 5 vehicles moving at random (in terms or speed and direction), it wud be difficult for anybody to guess what will happen in few seconds time. can we? i doubt so.. (that is why i am so mad at those drivers in front of me changing direction without giving signal, like i can read his mind..)

well, 'the' accident still happened and u must thank God that firstly, u r not hurt or injured. secondly, u must thank God because ur car not damaged until kenot jalan, have to send to bengkel and wait for at least ten days before can use. during that, patah kaki.

now back to that bastard 3rd party lady driving waja. firstly we must always bear in our mind, we have to be 600% extra careful when we realise there is a woman driver close to us. ladies are either too slow ( no offence!) or stupidly fast. forgive me, not to say that all men are good drivers but i practised this all the time. and so far it works... be 600% careful!! :unsure:

on ur case, i strongly do not recommend u giving ur IC/mykad unless requested by authorities like policemen. she got ur can number, that will do. if gentleman enuff, exchange contact numbers between both side. if one party refused, u shud too.

in the road act, any accident not reported to the traffic police within 24 hours is an offence. compund RM300, i not sure can reduce or not. BUT, normally, in case that the lady lodged report while u dont, police will treat this as RTI (refer to insurance). BUT...there is a way that she can make the police come to you...like tell the police that u banged her (her car of coz) with intention to hurt her (like 'along' or road bully or sumthing lidat). and police will come to ur door step in the next 24 hrs and take u back to charge u. so, my advice...please go and lodge report.

if its minor, polis oso tak mahu pening kepala and they will treat this as RTI. if the lane u were using not meant to turn right i am sorry my fren..its clear cut ur mistake. she can claimed from ur insurance and ur NCB/NCD hilang. otherwise, if its her fault, then make sure she lose her NCB. and kena saman. too bad this had to happen...gud luck my fren. :D
