Hi people,

I am a sedan lover in general, but i have come across a problem..

1. If i were to get a second hand maybe 2-3 years old, is Myvii reliable?
2. If i were to get a second hand persona which is 2-3 years old, is persona reliable?
3. If it were first hand which one will you suggest?
4. If it were second hand which one will you suggest?

Abit stuck here, thank you in advance for your input people :)

i wud highly suggest the myvi sir, too much reasons for me to list out.. its more reliable, and cheaper to maintan compared to the persona

hmm.. thanks for the reply xtremeleo..

the only thing about myvii i am scared of is when it hit speeds of 120km/h.. it will start to shake.. i mean if you are on a highway.. that speed is kind of easy to hit..

so hence the doubt there.. and spare parts for myvii is cheaper then persona?

spares are abundant as the myvi is sharing a lot of its parts with other daihatsu counterparts.

id u are worried about dat speed, the myvi is still stable there, dont worry. but if u are still worried about it, then getting a waja wud be a better option then the persona. handling capabilty is similar imo

agree with xtremeleo's statement.
get a myvi. ive seen myvi's doin 160kmh effortlessly

waja? i thought the waja is quite sucky? as in got alot of failure parts and all..

hmmm.... because a few of my friends own a myvii they said that it start shaking at 120++ as in the steering and all..

but i think if talking about parts break down.. proton is def lousier then myvii...

waja? lousy? must be the campro version then sir.. i forgot to be more specific, the old version waja. the engine, chasis and suspension are very good sir.

ive never driven the campro cps, i heard dat its a lot better then the campro. ive driven the campro in a gen2, and what i can say is, the handling characteristic is way better then a wira, or a myvi for dat matter. the thing is about its power delivery and fuel consumption, lets just say its not my cuppa tea.

on the maintenance point of view, the campro doesnt share anything with other engines, so u may need to mod / get new parts if anything are to go wrong, and from what iam hearing / seeing, going wrong seems to be the trend with the older version of campro. i think its tuning related, the engine seems to be solid and smooth. the later campro versions seems to be better but the fc is still as bad

when taking all of dat into consideration, d myvi seems like a more reasonable choice. or if u prefer sedan, get sumthing without a campro under the bonet, just to be on the safe side

hmmm.. yiah.. looking at all the points Myvii looks like the safer option and the best bet so far..

do you have any suggestions on 3-4 years car around 30-40k range? doesn't have to be p1 or p2.. and how many years max would you suggest that we should get for 2nd hand?

for dat amount sir, id a get a toyota SEG. maybe d one dat already has an auto 20V inside, hehe..

waja wud be way under ur bajet then, u can spend around 2k to refresh the car with new parts for the brakes, suspension, bushing, etc. the car wud be like new, even then ud save a lot dah.. the build and performance of the waja is on par or better then sum of the later japs' imo

perdana i think out.. cause i heard alot of problems and seriously hard to maintain...

hmmmm..leo, when you say waja, do you have a specific year you are referring too? cause i am ok for 2nd hand and first hand.. if have to stretch the budget abit, if its good also can consider ;) .. ahhahaha... must be value for money.. ahhaha.. abit as in 10-20k

iam talking about any waja without a campro sir, fuel consumtion is very the last time a driven one. and dat was for testing a more aggressive setting i did for the owner..

i never buy cars new sir, i prefer them to be cheap, with an untouched chasis ie no accident. iam willing to spend up to 5k for fixing if iam able to save up more then 20k compared to buying a new car. usually, my customers spend around 2k~3k to get the new car feel when buying a used car. a good investment imo

hmmm.. sounds good..

normally you will replace all the suspension, tires, brake pad.. anything else?

ahha.. looks like u won't recommend a campro eh

all the parts dat needs regular maintenance sir, lubes, brake fluid, brake hoses, bushings, suspension, etc.

like i said, the campro tuning doesnt suit me, fuel is used too much imo. the tuning cud be leaner like the waja's, and the power delivery of the 4g18 feels better for the masses, for the street. the campro is a high revving engine, no doubt dat it was built for performance, hence the more aggressive cam porfile and probably the tuning as well but it doesnt suit most people.

we tested the gen2 in ulu yam, and gearing skill had to be used extensively for the engine doesnt deliver below 4k rpm, definitely not my cuppa tea sir. i prefer the 4g18 in both low~mid power delivery and fuel consumption. u can search around for campro's fc and compare if it suits u.

yet again, there are debates on the campro's internals being so manja, until the new campro is proven to be reliable, i wont recommend them. dat doesnt mean iam bashing proton sir, on the contrary iam hoping theyd be more successful in the future. i like the new gen proton chasis ie waja, gen2, persona, etc. its their engine dat iam doubting

haha.. thanks for your input.. currently still thinking about a myvii (2-3 years).. but just thinking about other options..

hahaha... hmmm... i am also looking for something with a good fuel consumption. Would you recommend a 5 year old city? like i-dsi or vtec?

then like you said make changes for all those to make it a smooth ride?

my aunty had bad experiences with the city, her cvt gearbox kept giving her the tantrum, i dunno about the city's latest batch. from what i read, its using back the conventional autobox, i dunno..

yes sir, if u are able to search for a comparatively good unit, refreshing everything up gives u the new car feel.
