Hi Guys,

Ok, for those of you who remembered my last post on my Overheating issue, it was fixed when my fan was replaced, it seems that the 2 speed fan was running at 1 speed  . Now the car is "cool" B) even when I am stuck in jams.... :D

To more pressing matters...

1 - My SC unit is farked, I was running 1.1Bar boost for the past 1 year and 2 weeks back, I noticed that the car was extremely sluggish at times.....as though the SC does not kick in...so I got the car checked and after much wasted hours...found that the grooves in the SC unit were all worn out. So, I'm told that the SC unit is beyond repair. Whats the price of a new SC unit? Is there any diference in the AE92 and AE101 units???
2 - On my way back to KL last month, I experienced massive jerking in my car at 150km/h...I had the balancing and tires checked, all ok. The jerking starts at speeds from 60 to 160 and its not the steering wheel that jerks, but it feels more like the engine and the source is on the passenger side. I am now lead to believe that the drive shaft is screwed, is this possible/probable? But, if they are screwed, the jerking should be constant, but its not....it jerks on and off as and when it likes...I made a stop at Pagoh on the way back to JB after driveing for 1 hour at 120km/h as on that day jerking started at 130km/h onwards. Took a leak and continued the journey and amazingly....i could hit 170km/h with no issues at all..So any idea whats going on????!!!!! :(

Anyone here running 1.1Bar on a GZE?? Mind sharing any measures taken to maintain durability?

Thanks guys!!!!!

aiyoyo.........I think I better stick to NA.............. :D

most i ran last time was 0.9 bar of boost for GZE setup.. was ok all d time... replace it with a used unit.. should be alrite

Master D,

mine is running most at 0.6 bar.....

what mod you do that can achieved 1.1bar?

anyway.... a 1/2 cut sc12 is around RM250-350 the most .... my last change.... 4 years ago....

cheers...

You will need an aftermarket ABV,custom made SC compressor pulley and an aftermarket crank pulley....but, i was told it will kill the sc unit real fast and well...i guess I'm living proof! :(

I was told that the unit will cost me RM500, taken from halfcut AE101...expensive ar?

14psi is the max for the sc blower, going higher than that will only kill it faster. You will break the telfon seal and the burn bearing inside the blower. The difference between the AE92 and the AE101 blower is the pulley size, if i'm not mistaken. 101 unit will give u slightly higher boost than the 92 unit. pulley is exchangable. 500 bucks for a blower is too much liao lah but since it's really hard to get nowadays...what to do kan... :P I bought a unit for 150 bucks 1year ago, and now it's sitting in my storeroom...still working fine though. :)

in JB....

Shit la...RM150???? Awww man!!!!!! This is so depressing....

You wanna sell yours!?

M having Ae101 SC too, i using 7' pulley but boost only up to 0.8 bar, how come? wat boost meter u using? my suggestion to u is
1. check ur ECU ( try b4 the ECU can't support over 1 bar )
2. maintain ori boost, change all ur pulley to ori n test, really, tis is the best way to soft ur pro.

Hi,

yes, I've decided not to be a smart ass and think that higher boost is the answer for power (in my case anyway). ;)

I'll be using the big crank pulley buy maintaining the original compressor pulley so that I need not fork out money again in another year for a replacement compressor

I'm using a Blitz Racing Boost Meter which is accurate, I know the ECU cant take anything more than 1Bar and I did face boost cut issues, so what I did was to bleed some of the boost...it worked sometimes but occasionally, i still encountered boost cut.

Is there any diff between the AE92 and AE101 SC unit? I know that the pulley for the first gen SC (AFM version) is slightly bigger......

I have a few SC12 and SC14 units with me minus the pulleys. PM me if you need it.

There's no difference between the pulleys of AE92 and AE101 which is 120mm. The only difference is the MK1 version (AFM type) which is 125mm that will give you a lower boost and the (AFM type) magnetic clutch is also different.

FYI, the ECU will cut the fuel at 14.2psi. It's really doubtful that you can run more than that. Check your gauge. The only time you can run more than that is to bleed the MAP sensor.

The SC12 will take 15+psi with no problems but the air temp is enormous, which is the character of the Ogura design roots type supercharger. It defeats the purpose of running higher boost with those temps. What is more than that will melt it .

ask you all SC masters :)

my power steering is too light. some one suggest to me to use a SC pulley for the power steering pump, so that as low rpm the pulley engages and power steering on, but when rev the pulley disengage and power steering off.

I'll like to do it, anyone knows how?

or should I ask, anyone have a spare SC pulley? even a damaged one will do because I know I need to make sure the belt off-set is correct or not.

light power steering dangerous in speeding on highways... yes chin, if it works i might want it as well... but it is immediately disengaged even cruising at 40km/h?

That's an interesting notion to have a magnetic clutch to control the power steering pump. I'm interested in the idea for my car too.

Actually you don't have to go for a SC pulley, air-con compressors work on the same principle with an on/off switch. But we need something to control the engagement and dis-engagement of the stator magnet that varies with the speed of the car. Suggestion? If that's solved, the only thing is to fabricate the construction, which I don't think it's a real problem.

I might take a look at this after CNY.

speedchaser,

I was bleeding the pressure, but I do so miss the massive torque when the SC engages.

I'll be sending teh car in tomorrow AGAIN so wish me luck.....'

The bills are killing me man! <_<

aiyo, I don't know, that's why I'm asking people, you ask me pulak, some more can tell me at 40km/h so specific, how I now? I also asking to sifu to help :(

THAT'S PLEASE DON'T CALL ME sifu sifu, PLEASEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

friend said can be done... but easier to make a switch 'on' and 'off' it ... :)

Ah LEE............. here is the SIFU lah, I think his idea is even better........

speedchaser sifu ....... I urgently need it, because my power steering is the most lightestest in the world. So light until you think no steering at all. Seriously.

I was driving back from Ipoh and cannot go fast ...... when go fast must be no wind, roads very even, not bouncy, both hands squeze onto the steering 200% strength, eyes big big, both hands push the steering and back against the chair hard hard so won't turn easily.....and most important thing.....

CANNOT BREATH .............

110, 120, 130, 140, 150, 160, 170, 180 .......... 1 second

180, 170, 160, 150, 140, 130, 120 .............

aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ................... breath ...............

BALLS also gonna pecah already .... so dam scared ... :( I'm so dissapointed at my car ....

Some more got vibrations at 150 :( start from 140, then less at 160, but got very loud noise at 170, haiihhhhh why my car got so much problem one ???

Why I see all the unmodifed VIOS, CITY, WAJA, ACCORD, X-TRAIL, go 160, I cannot :(

So, where do you live speedchaser, I've got spare air-cond compressor but for carburetor car. I'm willing to compromise by making a manual switch for it. Can I come and see you about it? When are you free at night? What's your contact number?

I'm a newbie, please don't scold me :(
