As some of you know I recently purchased a FC clip and going to put it into a Toyota Corolla TE72 aka 2 door KE70. As Im a noobie in the RE field, I'd appretiate your views/opinions/do's & dont's following this conversion process and to further maintain my RE. My mech and I have taken the engine down and inspecting for wear and tear and damaged parts. So far only the clutch pump is faulty and it will be replaced. Here are some specs of the clip :

KS Turbine
Greddy BOV
Trust I/C with air flow meter relocated to top of I/C
Calsonic Oil cooler
KS F.C.D.
2 core aluminium radiator
2 additional injectors with Greddy Injector Controller
custom I.T.B. for piping and injectors
one-to-two exhaust manifold Amemiya lightened flywheel
triple plate clutch
KS alternator pulley
HKS plugs with NGK plug cables
dual boards on the ECU high flow fuel pump with regulator
Tein height adj suspension with pillow ball mount
strut bar

A small problem though, we cant seem to find the engine number. Any pointers?

some updates.
The engine was tried to be fitted onto the chasis. However the suspension points were way off the correct angle when utilising the original crossmember. So the engine is going to be pushed in back and that requires the firewall to be cut. With the current mod, the gbox bellhousing can be seen from the cabin. A custom firewall will be implemented later once the engine mountings have been secured. The suspension also tilts about 20 degrees to the front. An alternative would have been to utilise the Corolla original crossmember holding the RE but that would not able the utilising of the FC power steering, and suspension system along with the entire lower assembly. Also since the gbox is reallllllllly long compared to a Corolla, currently the gear shift stick is at the hand brake position. So some custom work will be done to fit a new gear stick by cutting and welding a new shaft at the opening ontop of the gbox which incidently is the original location for Corolla. With this setup I wont have to make another hole on the chasis for the gear stick and weld another customised shaft extending to the back for gear changing. Also saves the hand brake from being relocated. One concern now is will the dashboard fit nicely with alot of the engine being 'inside' the car already...tune in for the next episode...hehe

good stuff. keep in the info reeling in!! as for the engine number, i'm nit too sure bout FC's and hope for your sake its the same as the FD. The engine number is under the alternator on housing itself.

phat7,
checked n double checked all around the area. No engine no. or other markings except Mazda 13B.
more updates:
The engine is in! It now sits comfortably in the engine bay along with the gbox. A magnificent
engineering job done where the entire gear shifting box column has been removed from the back and placed at the middle so now its at the normal Corolla gear shift postion.
Today fitted the IC pipings and they fit perfectly so wont need a new set. Also working on the radiator placement and tilting it as per original position in the FC and utilising the plastic cover. The oil coller and AC condenser & receiver dryer is in too. A slight modifition done to the power steering hoses as they were too long and found to be unnecessary so cut and joined. Trow should be working on the IC and radiator brackets and hopefully the dashboard too. I might have some pics so keep your fingers crossed.

Don't tilt the radiator!!! You will get much better cooling mounting it as vertical as possible. Mazda only mounts them at an angle in line with the sharp slope of the RX-7 bonnet.

Good work so far mate! Looing forward to seeing the finished product.

SWG...

The radiator cannot be mounted fully vertical as its too big! So keeping it tilted along with the plastic cover. Looks like the entire front panel will be cut and a customised one made to hold the oil cooler, radiator, condensor and Intercooler. Along with custom brackets for the bumper and headlights.

wah.. getting serious mods here. damn! i'll be back and will take snapshots of it! hahahahaha

Just got news from Mr Monkey Donut Joehan that he has got my boss kit. Finally ! Been searching for this for over a month now. Should collect it in a day or two and fix it. Then i can finally attach a steering and TEST DRIVE the car. BTW, the body rust removal is all done.
