mm...i think u can try custom make hood n other bodykit...it should look nice if the design fit the body shape n lines :) mayb u can paint the american racing colour n put two strips front front to rear :P
powerwise i think restoring the engine would b good enuff, the chasis might not be strong enuff to take too much power unless u go for welding n strengthening...
juz my 2-cent opinion :)
i think i've seen one celeste in TARC if i've not mistaken it with 120Y liftback...
kinda interested in this car....plz keep us update on the progress :) thanks!!
cheers...

Hey Vyras, I think your Celest is similar to my Colt Galant GTO. I'm currently restoring it to a usable condition. It has a 2litre 4G52 and I am thinking of installing a 2.6litre 4G54/54B from a Pajero as they a pretty similar. Look up My Garage for details. I'm having difficulty finding parts though. If you have any leads on places to find similar cars and spares I woul be grateful. Currently in need of a driverside window winder mech. Need to have a closed window before I bother with fitting the air-con. :(
Anyway I have bought this Haynes manual which covers a number of different models. Your welcome to borrow it if it helps you out a bit.
sure man.. that'd be great.Originally posted by GTOld@Jan 4 2005, 21:11
Car is going well on the old engine. Don't really want to fit anything more powerful until I sort the handling. Think the front springs are too soft and the whole thing needs lowered a little, not sure where I can get that sorted. Maybe see what I can get out the original engine with a new manifold and exhaust, know anyone who can make a custom system?
Really need to find a scrap car to get a window mech, front bumper & grill, door & window seals, better dash etc..... At the moment I'm just making the thing safe to drive and removing lots of old wiring so I can start fitting air-con. Body is pretty good with only a small patch required behind the dash and some welding required in the trunk.
Celest looks like a pretty cool motor. Hope you can get sorted without too much hard work. Keep a look out for any old GTO's for me.
