Wooah... its been a while since i last created a topic.

Oh anyway, whats is the maximum bore for a 4AGE? I mean, in mm.
Some sources have told me that 83mm is the most it can go. TODA sells oversized pistons up to 82.5mm only.

I've been thinking 84mm... but im not sure if it can... cause i see the gaskets for 4AGE, the distance betyween each cylinder is pretty near. Im also afraid of making the cylinders too close to each other.

A destroked engine normally has drop in torque...but how if we still maintain within 1.6L? I mean surely the displacement after destroking wouldnt be like the styock 1588cc(or is it 1587cc), but probably 1550+cc or so... since the bore is the limiting factor anyway.

Oh yeah, rollakid, if you're thinking this thread has anything to do with my dreams of a destroked 4AGE, you're right! My dream, bore x stroke: 84mm x 70mm. Next would be a 2ZZGE..I hate that length of stroke!

Everyone is allowed to dream right??

bro try not to go beyond 82.5mm if u want the engine to be lasting, i would reckon 82mm currently i'm only using 81.5mm.......cheers

then standard wat da original size ?

nowonder la ur car so power
pretending stupid huh after i pecah ur lubang then u know......... :tee:

actually i want to know... if i go beyond 82.5mm, what problem would i face?? overheating and such?

they say the absolute maximum bore for 4ag is 83mm, dunno what will happen after that, maybe the block not strong enough and crack?

and most of the popular off the shelve metal head gasket have only up to bore 82.5mm too.

83mm

the highest you can possibly go is 83mm and that is already very close to each cylinder..
The best is the 82mm because eay to find pistons and also reliable.......at 83mm there is also a high possibility of overheating.....really not reccomended....well...you can try...lol

so efini....what are you plans and what car you got la?

if i not mistaken either rollakid or efini is still underage or something rite?

something that i learnt, learn how to drive before u learn how to mod n speed.

@auxoura:
haha no car... have to wait and see after SPM. maybe if lucky, i might get myself a TE71 or KE70 or something cheap?
what im planning to do? dunno, depends on my wallet...
even if got car, i dont have any money to modify it too. musn't use parents money! but if my dad wants to buy me a car (hopefully!), then whats wrong with that? haha. but money for mods, i will try to use my own, but problem is... i dont have any!

@chek_corolla:
haha im the underaged one. haha.. so you mean i shouldnt dream too much? ;( sob sob.. too bad my parents arent that supportive of this hobby.
anyway, this is just for out-of-school extra knowledge only.
just to quench the curiosity.. haha

hmm normality, i guess TODA has pistons for that bore size.

how much would it cost to get a set of lightweight crankshaft, titanium conrods(?) and a set of pistons of the desired bore size if aftermarket manufacturers don't cater for sizes above 83 mm? Custom make a set of pistons from Arias and such?

but is it really worth to bore the cylinders so huge then run a shorter crank, just so you can rev up higher and increase power at a higher end?
as i know, the later in the revs u make the torque come in, the more power u can make.
hmm

so what is the piston to be use if bore to 81.5mm or 82mm?
toyota has 81.5mm oem piston(blacktop design) dat can be use either on svt or bt but anything beyond dat company such as toda, trd etc offer 82mm piston for 4age but freaking expensive.........cheers

if u ask me to buy trd or toda piston, i rather buy buy some carbon parts like bonnet or hood or maybe other things that can make the car lighter. Bcoz, i think the freeking expensive pistons can only give u another 3-5hp, y not make the car lighter so u can get a better power to weight ratio ?

lets say 1000kg to 160hp = 10kg to 1.6hp

so, 50kg will give u about 8hp of hp feel

plz dont tembak me for this unless u already got everything like carbon bonnet or hood or others thing that u cannot make ur car any lighter

not to kill ur interest on cars, but just trying to bring u back a lil to the earth surface. i was like u before, dunno how to drive yet but wanna modify.

modification to car is something like a blackhole, u dunno how deep is ur obsession for it. the effective way to learn bout it, is to get along with the modifications itself. all theory makes no sense after all. n differrent engine is different from each other. some mod u put into a 4age engine 'A' might put on 8hp or so, but it might only produce 6-7hp on a 4age engine 'B'. most important, learn the characteristic of ur car n ur skill before u mod. each mod to a car will actually changes the character of the car.

awesome awesome, finally seeing some cool recently, ok, power to weight ratio is an important for our need. the calculation should be the ratio of hp to weight. means accordin to tryforce, 1.6hp is pulling or pushing 10kg of weight. in this case, i should consider it as pulling force as our AEs are FF. if u invest on CF hood or so, it actually improve the handling of the car by reducing understeer if i am not mistaken.

actually in my plan of my project AE111 (which will be real in 3+ yrs time) lightweight is one of my major concern. ok ppl, try to take out ur backseat if u dun need it, throw the damn amp n woofer away, who needs someone to shout n scream on the backseat when u r enjoyin the power n sweet tone from ur hi-rev 4age? engine is the music instrument, f*cking throw those stereo away n save the money for the stereo stuff n mod ur engine.

if u wan, u can also change ur seat to bucket seats, take out ur trash, like ur tissue box, soft toy, pillow, speakers, spare tyres and so on. if u r more hardcore, u can actually go on diet urself or ask ur gf to diet more.......lolz......as well as battery could be changed to a small size one too.
if even more hardcore, take the power steering system, aircond off.

hmm chek... i guess you're right... but right now haha.. dreaming is all i can do.. hafta wait till i earn my own cash...
sigh it sucks to be an underaged, especially with parents who dont support this kind of hobby... and no license too!
hata wait and see waht future brings after spm...

hmm

Hey, dont burst this feller's bubble la....
Anyway its a good time to think how can you get that money to mod...hehe...

Anyway if i were you i would rather save for a supercharge and turbo charge it later. I am using a 4AGE N/A and i regret not doing a turbo charge....well maybe next year la...

eh..whats your msn? add me la... ;D
