Like the subject says... AARRGGHH!! :(

Recently moved to Kota Damansara and forced to cancel my Streamyx at the old house (since not using and cannot transfer to new house because no phone lines).

Now, I stuck with the following:

1. WiFi @ Starbucks - free but you gotta pay for the drinks which cost RM 10-20 easily. Parking at Mont Kiara is RM 2.50 after 7PM.

2. WiFi @ Ikea / Ikano Power Centre via Airzed... but they close after 10PM. And when they do, the AP goes down together... :(

3. GPRS via Maxis (using my Nokia 6600 and Bluetooth)... freakin' expensive at RM 0.015 per kb (read... per kb of download and upload). Today alone I used up to 5Mb already. Tiu... phone bill sure run sky high already.

Sigh... when, when can I have my broadband back... life is so sad with it... I felt like Chuck Noland (from the movie Cast Away). I can't do anything here except to watch animes, DVDs, Astro and clean my car... :(

acbc,
use 'other' way to scan AP and begins the operasi wantan mee thingy u told me once! hahaahahahahaa!

Regards,
Mike

U can give it a try, apply a phone line then probe for streamyx. As long as your area is not a totally new area.
do not use your serrounding number to probe for streamyx.
I kena kao kao, use my neighbour's telekom ground line to probe for streamyx but was told no streamyx.
Then I go apply this stupid farkup Ebuilding service.
total loser~! use for few days beh tahan cancel it ...

And I go apply stremyx and guess what... got service .. KNN!
U gotto talk to those phone installer. they should be able to check it.
Now, waiting for my 1Mb ADSL to come in and huhuhu~! cam download watever i like liao .. hehe!

I have 2 batteries for my laptop... total run time is 8 hours. With WiFi, I will lose around 1 hour, still got 7 hours to spend. :P

acbc,
Try checking out TimeNet's Webbit. Wireless broadband too.
Thanks Jerry but they don't cover my area... missed due to a blind spot. Sigh... :(

That ASTRO satelitte internet connection thinggy didn't happend ah?
If there is such a service it could be an option.

AstroNet? heard it when I was in college liao, the project involves Astro and Jaring, do not think the project materialise. Even the website is removed.

acbc ... moving into new area memang like that wan wor... telekom always cannot catch up with development wan... As them to lay a cable took them 2 years to do that. That's the effect of monopoly ...
but last time i did see Webbit do road show in front of Pelangi Damansara... really didn't cover kota damansara ar .. sad news for you

We should start beaming our wireless connection in town, and make the whole klang valley 802.11b complient
