Think so man. I think I should aim for KE70 then :( <_<

if you really want one get one from the auction from japan lor... but even the most wrecked 86 cost alot, especially the gt-apex trueno, enough for you to get a new car liau.. and not even counting the import tax at the kastam yet..

btw i just saw 2 trueno of the same color driving together when i go to have lunch just now.. walau me first time get this close to have a look at a 86 ar... cuz it almost hit me when i want to cross the road XD

I bet if it wasn't for the Japanese Anime Initial D, nobody from this era would have known about the AE86. In fact, when I first watched the Anime, I never heard of AE86..but LEVIN I have heard b4..bcs when I was a kid, I saw the LEVIN and asked me Dad to buy one.

lol, but i know about the AE86 before i watch initial d, and already interested in it before i watch the anime. Probably because i kind of like drifting before that and then heard about tsuchiya the dirftking.

so i go and get some video clip featuring him drift.. and then saw the 86. then people told me i'd like the anime if i like drifting so much.. so i go and give it a try..

after the anime, i still want a 86 like before i know the anime, just that i want a panda colored one muahahahaha..

its sad that the anime made the price of the car raise so much...

I think the KE70 advertised in here should be interesting too huh?

KE70 + SR20DET = Can dori-dori already ;)

yeah its nice, but all depend on how much power do you want. If i'm going to buy a KE70, i'll get one with a 4agte or 4agze, should have enough torque to keep the wheel smoking.

and i'll want to keep it old skool style, with the black/steel original bumper attached. Truth is i already have one KE70 and i'm still in the planing stage to build a drift machine to learn to drift (yeah, getting no where if i keep on talking about it only, now i just lack the cash).

some info on my car and my questions.. and some pic.. warning very big pics..

Hey rollakid,

That's a blardy good website for KE70 owner. I've learned some few tips there. I wonder the KE70+SR20DET would be advisable to get a not? Altho' not "Ori" Toyota anymore, but hell of a good to drift with 2.0 litres + Turbo :) ;)

that KE70 in the tread with a TRD badge at the rear is mine, gonna mod it soon.

btw the pic you attach is not a KE70, its an AE71 if i'm not mistaken and any 4AGE will go right in without any crossmember modification. Acoustic will know more about them.

For what i know, tho i might be wrong, is that the SR20DET is an interesting swap since it is already an FR engine. Would be easier to swap over especially on the piping, compare to MR layout 3SGTE you got from any MR2, tho there is other source but i'm not too sure.

To my knowledge (from friends and some online review site), the SR20DET engine is quite tough and able to withstand lots of boost. I still remember a line in a review on the S15 sylvia says "the sr20det is capable of gaining extra 50% of power without much hassle". I think it refer to giving more boost to the engine without much internal change..

And if you got the cash, consider the Tomei rebuild SR20, even the CA18 will be good enough, but it will cost more than your car lol...

have a look..

Rather than squeezing more power from the 4AGE / 4AGE (T) / 4AGZE, might as well taruh into the SR20DET to drift easily. I think the price is cleaper compared to 4AGE to mod from. ;)

woopie nice pic..

but after i visit jpj's website last time, i think it would be easier and less hassle to do and engine swap under 25% increament in displacement. less testing, but i dunno what is the real situation.

another factor is i dun wan pay too much road tax, and i want to keep it all toyota.

I dunno if that chap that swap his KE70 with the SR20DET does have his car certified by puspakom yet? What do you think huh? :(
