guys,thanks for reading. I have been offered a deal. This is how it goes.
Im using 4g91. Upgrade plan is 4g92 DOHC block with 4g93 head.

1.8 port & polished stage 1 complete head(intake and exhaust outlet)
1.8 cams
botton block,never rebore
Hi-compress pistons and rings
ori rod and camshaft
Hi temp bearing set that can take to 8500 rev
Intake manifold

Sort of, im changing engine kosong la. It comes together as 1. Its "PLUG AND PLAY" So there are a few issue's im concern about such as,

1)Will i face high gear ratio? Im running on 4g91 1.5 gearbox.
If yes, how will be? How bad?
What do i gain and lose in this?

2)My current fuel cut is at 6800 rpm. How is it to eliminate the current fuel cut?
Using SAFC will do?
If not, wat should i do?

3)Do i need to upgrade my injectors or just use a fuel regulator?

4)What about the fuel pump?Currently using the standard 4g91 fuel pump.

5)What about the Air Flow Sensor?
Can i remain or need to upgrade that aswell?
If i yes, wat ur suggestion?

6)Is the timing belt used for 4g91 and 4g92/93 same?

SO IS IT WORTH DOING THIS UPGRADE??

just go for 4G92 or 4G93 complete engine instead doing this type of mixing project.
what u mean for high gear ratio?
 
cos my friend used a 4g91 gbox on his putra for sometime cos his 1.8 gbox kong d. Low cash la...he experienced the gear ratio was higher than normal compared to his old 1.8gbox. Like when ur on ur 5th gear, u'll feel wanna engage to ur 6th gear where there is none. Feel like "Gear tak cukup"

hope that explained wat i understood abt it..don shoot if its wrong..help me to understand if its wrong guys..i'll take it as a comment..

I think u are mean gear ratio and final drive ratio right?
for 4G91 gearbox, the final drive is 4.021. However, 4G93 gearbox is set up with 4.322 gearbox.
4G91 GB will given low rpm drive compare with 4G93 GB.
 
i answer would be no!
since u have the idea of getting rid if the fuel cut,then u won't spend less than a whole set of engine.i assume ur case is ur car cannot reg 1.8 engine,then probably u can go to 1.6 dohc or dohc mivec

this is the engine spec which is offered to iswara204..is not rojak 1.8+1.6 lah..rojak here,rojak there...
its just the engine using its brother's 93 cam and head..and believe me,they are the same design,same lenght,same head height with a slight difference in cam lift..same like if ppl drive putra 1.8 then masuk 272 cams..thats not rojak rite..its a mod to get better power.

To answer ur questions.

question 1

the g/box ratio is not as hi as 1.5 gbox on a 4g93..acceptable ratio for pick up,not sure how much of a kick on high gears..100kmh at 3.2rpm on 1.6 local gbox

question 2
fuel cut or rev cut can be eliminated by installing RSM or installing higher flow fuel pump e.g 1.8 na or gsr..SAFC will fine tune ur fuel mapping for better perf.this will answer ur 4th question

question 3
210cc from 91 dohc is enough for this engine as standad injector flow is 210cc..the engine is not race prep or got hi cam..why need bigger injector??

question 5
dun need to chnge the air flow sensor..keep it..why need changing?when ur
91 comp box air/flow mapping is based on the 454 code air flow..unless u chnged 92 or 93 ecu..it best reads with 455 code air flow sensor..or u turbocrging go for 499 code

question 6
4g91 and 92 dohc share the same timing belt..their code is 153 YU 29..for 1.8 dohc is 156 yu 29 as they r long stroke block,so a bit higher..for mivec is the same 156 yu 29..
 
actually bro, what do u want? u want power go for higher cc.... 4g91 max after u finished rm15k it can only go up to 150bhp..... this option actually already good enough for driver like u. u know what? most of the performance car is having short ratio gearbox. better for pick up. it comes back to basic, budget..... if u got moreeeeeeeeee budget that u can go for other options.
 
Can use back 7375 g491 ecu for this engine..its just that u cant rev higher than 6800 rpm...but nevertheless,u can feel way much diff when the power comes at 4800 rpm all the way to the rev cut...

Even last time,when my ori 92 ecu and whole harness got stolen,and have to use 1.6 local sohc spec harness n ecu ( no budget la that time )...i still can catch putra and gti easily..not talking cork here..guys can ask a forumer frm klang YONG5290,Lampakia and Nai Putra who hv tested my car while using 1.6 sohc harness and ecu
 
once got budget..buy la ecu frm 1.8 gti,putra or 1.8 LE or find 4g92 dohc spec..or juz buy my ecu..ha..ha..

yup..i oso using 4G92 dohc (japan Spec)..like bro wira x laju said not all forumer know about this engine, when asking question about 4g92 all thinking about 1.6 rojak n 4g92p..

that engine mmg x laju but can follow gsrla...hehehe

i left my car at this one guy who was supposed to chnge some parts..next day,my car already outside,cannot start,and see all my harness and ecu missing..the guy already went missing..some ah long looking 4 him..very sad
 
Can i know what is the fuel consumption for this engine when u used it...Mean for normal drive and high rev.....
 
hmm.... modification do not think about the fuel cosumption lor.... buang masa je... kalau nak safe minyak pakai engine standard dah. mana ada laju safe minyak. aku kekadang naik heran la manusia nih, nak minyak safe tmacam kancil tapi nak laju macam ferrari. make it like this la.... if really interested on the engine, just buy it. want to buy engine also want to ask around the whole world ka??? come on la... gentlemen la skit. anyway, for info (those who still newbie) 4g92 got 2 versions. 1 = 4g92 twincam originally from lancer body. 2 = 4g92 twincam mivec also from lancer body. just like BMW la...got single vanos, double vanos & normal. from what i know, this particular 4g92 engine that everybody is talking about here actually kinda a good buy because if u want to find an original 4g92 twincam in the market is very rare. so, if u want to buy just buy and no more question asked. use it n feel it. kalau nak betul2 laju, go buy turbo la (kalau rasa dah cukup laju la).

if fuel consumption to high maybe u all can use safc...

Do you mean just all above mention ECU can pnp into 4G91? Just change to those ECU will have difference? More power?
