How To Modify A D-series ???

hi guys,i have a few question on how to mod a d series engine or sohc engine. i have read about this 'method' called MiniMe.basicly,its about combining a block with other head for example a zc(d16a6)with d16y head or d16z block with d16y head.same like b20 with b18 head la,but its single cam.

my question is,if i change my head and intake manifold,is there other stuff i have to change too?like wiring maybe?

where can i find this type of head?if im not mistaken,its from an ek 1.6 single cam engine.when i asked a few chop shop around here they say single cam vtec head only 1.5 and 1.3

do you guys know any workshop(around ampang especially)that are familiar with this type of mod?

many people here go stret for B series i think. wat r u driving? my friend converted his EG 1.6 SOHC auto engine to EG6 engine. engine 3500 workmanship 1200. ok kot

whoaa faisal,rm4700 for complete swap?thats a good bargain rite?makes me think twice wether to concentrate on my SOHC or swap to b16.do you know where he find that.interesting...

the RM3500 EG6 auto hafcut was bought at Mun Lee Puchong then the RM1200 were charged by a mechanic in USJ 8 if not mistaken. The hafcut is an auto maybe that's why it's cheap. Go to Mun lee maybe u can find a good deal.

hwoaa..both your car oredi turbocharged ka??what else you have done to your engine??
i check around and saw theese sites, SOHChonda.com and d-series.org and found out that alot can be done to this engine.do you know any other mech thats familiar with d-series mod??

I think there r many mech can mod the d-series laa.. do your own study and read those 2 sites until ur eye pops up and set ur goals, and ofcoz, ask ur pockets... he he

i oredi do a bit study.my eyes pops out, melantul kat screen monitor,and then masuk balik.:shocked: i oredi got goal,to use d16y head,but still cant find any.maybe ill ask the mech thats familiar with d-series.maybe they have some better idea.

Jifatt... wat tat blurcivic said is definitely true.... never look down on the sohc efi.... if u buy the taiwan car mag... u can see how fast can sohc turbo boost.... the fastest i seen is up to 400++ hp... Honda car dont suppose to have Vtec underhood only fast... im on my way to boost...u?

actually NA also can push well.. depends how high your goal is only.. :) To you pushing 130~140 owhp from your sohc might not be enough but to me thats high man..

I just went turbo instead of B series because i want the torque.. hahahah...

Yah.... the Spec R Mag last month got rit?? Silver color Ek boost out 499 hp.... So terible... But sad tat the mag doesnt explain more detail bout the car mod and secret behind....:emoticon_U:
