HotBits Suspension system...for cars & suvs.
I'm planning to change my stock absorbers and the stock springs, because my front stock absorbers are partially not working well already.

I'm considering HotBits, as they offer adjustable coilover suspension (front & back) for my car.

Has anyone installed products from the HotBits suspension range?
Any good or bad comments?

I would appreciate if current or ex-users can give their opinion on HotBits products, before I actually make my final decision...

thx!

Hotbits is good..price also good.... but damn 99 hard lo.... comfort zone is very minimal but handling is iciban.....

quite expensive right ? rm2800k for high-low and rm3xxx for fully adjustable

yes, i wud highly recommend the set. hard? uve tried it bro? the set was good on corners, i really pushed it at ulu yam, and the ride was really comfy compared to other adjustable set. worth it!! :)

sorry guys.but can i actually know wats the actually meaning when some1 says an absorber is hard and soft..:_:

how to say hard ahhh? the car is very stiff...when u run over a poth hole or unbalance road...ur car feel like no spring... but body roll is minimal... :)

i install full set adjustable to my focus...handling is GOOD espcially on corners... :)

i've been using the HotBits. Mine is the street type with helper spring. Height adjustable.

The new ones is DT1 series which is height, hard and soft adjustable with canister.

One thing good about these suspension kit is service-able locally at their hotbits factory. you can visit www.hotbits.org for more information.

In my humble feedback:

Pros:
fully service-able kit.
user customized ride height and *hard/soft adjustments. (*DT1 series)
2 years warranty on absorbers.
10 years warranty on springs.
Great handling.

Cons:
A little pricey
Servicing takes about 1-month or so to complete.. a little slow.
Comfort on normal roads is reduced but Handling performance is better

p/s: all track or street race suspension kits feels like no springs. this is common. if you want to get superior handling you'll have to sacrifice comfort a bit.

FTZone, when you say "it feels like no spring", does it mean that when my car goes over uneven road or potholes, I'll get all the "bang" or "bong" sound??

If comfort is my main priority, then would you suggest that I just fix my original shock absorbers with Eibach Pro-Kit springs?

Lemon,

IMHO,
"feels like no spring" means hard settings to the shocks. not giving bang bong sound... ermm... imagine the supermarket trolly.. the stuffs inside and then you go over some bumps... watch the things inside the trolly lor.. hehehe... sumthing like that... but not that bad la in the actual car lor... :P

for me... the best solution would be still the whole kit itself... not rojak here and there. I think the HotBits DT1 or any suspension kit which have hard/soft settings should be fine... if you feel your ride is to bumpy.. adjust softer lor... if you feel there is room for improvement in handling... adjust to hard lor...
Ask your dealer for the best spring rate for comfort if that is your priority.

hmm..supermarket trolly with things inside, and if this trolly goes over some bumps then the things in the trolly will jump up abit worrrr....

wah lau...sounds hard man...later passengers head all hit the roof of my car.... =(

dude, when you say..."rojak here and there", do you mean...buy different brand of spring, then buy different brand of shocks...and then combine them together?

is that what you mean?

Titan makes custom suspension sets...I wonder if they are very expensive...

Speedworks

Bro,

Go for R3coilovers. I just got a new set. It is a prototype unit. Will be onsale anytime now. Really good!!! Totally swear by it. Confort and handling. Those R3 guys really know their stuff. I slapped on the bushed too. Car really handles well now.

Call Djan at 0122031099. Cheers!!

R3?
buy from where?
got any website to read more abt it?
how much is it gonna cost me for front & back set?

buy from Speedworks also, is it?

How much is the R3 coilover ? Is it a full set of suspension system ? Means spring
and absober .

I have a set of Hotbits - front and rear with canister. Don't know what model it is ... Maybe they are DT-1, how do you tell?

I used to work on suspension but not on hotbits. Used to know Bilstein with canister have their adjuster at the end of the canister for rebound control. Usually the bump control is on the shaft end. Is this the same for Hotbits?

I am still yet to test the shocks - but I have dealt with customers that wanted their cars to handle like "on-rails" but have the comfort of an RR. Answer: no such set-ups ;) Anyway, good tuners can set the shocks to absorb little bumps and undulation on the road, and increase in load capacity during hard cornering?loading. Probably better to have progressive springs, than the usual linear type.

Cheers.

Bro, i hate to say this but comfort is extremely subjective depending on who you ask.

To one dude, comfort maybe that he doesnt shake his fillings loose and to another guy, comfort may be exactly like stock.

All i can tell you is that from what i have experienced, if comfort is a priority, do not go for local coilover setup's.

If handling is, then by all means. In fact, if comfort is a priority, try to stay away from coilovers altogether. Maybe a spring/shocks combination is more friendly.

Totally understood what you meant, and I can't agree more. It's purely subjective.

But try telling this to some 20 year old, whom wanted to look cool in his V8 ... dropped like he's on rails, wanna do a sub-12's ...

And I know what hard is too ... linear 330lb/inch fronts and 240lb/inch rear, plus another 20% uprate by the shocks. Totally rock stiff.

By the way, I find the Hot-Bits ... at least the one's on mine has very, very little low bumps tolerance - as in, there's no absorption to little bumps on the road. Kinda feels every little stones and cracks on the road ...

i use hotbits b4 but it was a muffler,
i think its really perform well for my kembara
i am thinking to get a hotbits suspension for my civic that i driving now
