Hi all,

Would like know r these gadgets r just a work of marketing hype or they real bang 4 bucks? Coz there seem 2 b some different opinion on each side for those who r using it and those r who not. All comments n opinions are welcome but pls make it a constructive 1s. Thnk u thnk u.

If you expect performance (in the whp area) improvement... forget it. These things are supposed to function to reduce resistance in the electric dept. Assuming the stock ones are not corroded or damaged, the stock ones are usually enough. The power increase (more like power returned!) only comes 'if' your stock ground wires are corroded/damaged, causing insufficient electric power for the coils/radio/solenoid/etc. IMO. It's also recommeded if you use a lot of high power drain stuff in your car, like amps, powerful ignition coils, etc. etc.

Unless of course, you just want them for the colour and 'wow' factor of your engine bay. Then go ahead and buy it.. If it doesn't make your car faster.. at least you will think it's faster.. ROFL!

Dunno.. depend on the car, I guess.

For me.. better save that money, and a bit more, you can overhaul/clean up the engine, replace some rubber seals and gaskets, or just replace some of the original stock grounding wires with new stock ori ones. With stock car, the electricity consumed isn't so great that it affects other electronic components when the grounding isn't sufficient.

Let's see what other forummers say.. That's just my opinion.

I'm only buying them if I need to replace my original ground wires (some of my ground wires corroded already.. 11 year old engine mah!)

more or less same as shiro said oledi.

What the?!! Tohsan.. you a post whore?

Something else than a greeting please!

Guys,

I've just read frm import tuner that they did a dyno wif the VS and grounding kit on a yr 2000 Civic Si wif b16a. ther was a dyno chart showed an improvement interm of HP and torque wise. Are those paid up dyno review too?

Well.. if there were no performance difference, would it have been made into an article?

Depends on car like I said earlier what.. Some will find perf. improve.. some will find zero performance improvement.. depend on setup mah!

Anyway.. no problems about buying it.. if no horsepower gain, at least it will make your engine bay look nicer.

Well, okay. Thnx for ur comments n opinion, shiroitenshi. Really, appreciate it. If ya not stayin' so far away, we could meet up 4 a teh tarik and learn a thing or two frm you. :)

yo coolric.
i also read from oversea mags that showed Dyno tested that VS and ground kit does EXACTLY nothing! it is from auto experts doing the testing. they did the test on old American car (i think mustang), but engine condition is very good (shiny some more).. so i think imprt tuner tested on yr2000 civic with a BAD grounding...
rusted ka.. or loose ka.. then sure it looks like improvement, but actually it is recovering the loss power only.

why dun u guys read fr Option Fans as well, New Evo9 dyno claimed 8bhp at flywheel......how to explain tht..??

I don't read option fan.. at least not after I read an article about a 'cyclone' gizmo look-alike being promoted in the mag, and they were claiming better pickup and all that..

God.. no!

Fact is.. I view dyno hp numbers with skepticism.. sometimes get high reading, sometimes get low reading.

And sometimes, two dyno runs don't achieve the same numbers.. WTF?

ya lahh..

cylcone la... surbo la.. what the hell its a piece of aluminium shaped like a fan,
and they sell it for rm200++... the person who creates it is damn smart...
make money like hell.. surely he pay up some mag to backup their claim..
hahahah...

by the way there is one guy who cut the aluminium shape from aluminium tin can (from coca cola or pepsi like tat) and put it at air intake just b4 throttle body...
tested it... nothing... in fact a bit power loss... since the damn thing oso blocking the damn air!! everyone wants a free flow air intake with mandrel bent pipes and all, then u go put restriction at intake sumore?? what the hell..

Jinei2liei2n,

but this is just My Opinion lah. u wanna buy VS, ground cables, cyclone, surbo, air charger, fuel saver, what gadget what-not and claim got gajilion hp increase, up to u lah. im not wasting my money lah. even some claim after put bodykit and stickers, hp increase wooo...

hehe.

shiro what is that ahh?

5 lugs Taip-R Disc ??

u mean disk brake? how it looks like?

This... They use rims that are 5x114.3 PCD.
The discs are about 13 inches, a bit bigger than stock EG/EKs. You can see the caliper almost touch the balancing weights on the rims. Very tight fit, and no, you cannot use 14 inches (at the front) with this setup.

Yeah.. any magazines that starts writing articles about fuel savers, cyclone, gizmos that claim to give horsepower and also give fuel economy... I stop buying.

So far, I think all the local mags have done it before.. so no more local mags for me.

Now, if honda tuning starts writing crap.. I'll stop buying it as well.
