Ironically, I was also doing this same evaluation for a friend who wants to choose between these two cars. So far here are the pros and cons that I have found:
Engine
- VTEC engine is known to be more powerful that VVT-i
- After test drive, it seems that the Vios is much lighter during pickup
- Based on technical specs, Vios has a slightly lighter chasis and its engine outputs slightly more power than the city.
- City auto gear shift is much smoother compared to Vios.
- City has triptonic gear shifting option. Vios does not.
- Fuel consumption of City is better than Vios.
Interior
- City interior is far better quality compared to Vios
- City has foldable front seats
- City is slightly more spacious in the back seat
- City has more boot space
Safety
- Vios has the strengthened safety cage incorporated into the chasis
- City does not state that it has this safety feature
Finance
- Supposedly, there is a 2.8% loan interest for Vios and they give 1 year interest free
- Honda has 3.5% loan interest rate
- Resale value of City is much better than Vios (as speculated from previous Honda models)
That was about as much as I found out about these two cars. I prefer the exterior look of the Vios, but the interior is not as good as City.
Why did you pick Vios over City? What was the main reason for doing so?Originally posted by quottro@Feb 21 2005, 16:04
What i would advise is...go to both showroom, and try out both cars...and then compare...
I did that and i picked the Vios...:)

QUOTE (Riezal-R @ Feb 21 2005, 16:06 ) this is like a person's weight difference
3. interior - CT's backseat....though its foldable i find it a lil' awkward bein' hollow at the bottom, and light colored-interiors do get dirty more easily ---> that's one reason why i didn't take the Vios Es also...
4. suspension - probably due to its weight, the City feels a lil' soft
5. space - this one the CT wins hands down, it has longer legroom, especially the rear passenger seats
6. paintwork - somehow i do find that the CT's paintwork is better than the Vios's
7. looks - this is a VERY subjective thing...some likes the Vios's, while some like's the City...
So bein' 4 1/2 out of 7...the Vios scores better on my comparison
anyway, to me picking a car is even-ing out the strengths and weaknesses not buyin' for the sake of the brand...
cheers,..and again..no offence.. ;)
