can anyone tell me what`s the different between honda city vtec and toyota vios 1.5g? coz i`m in the decision 2 buy either one...tq

If u ask here, sure all the people say Honda. Same as u ask in the Toyota forum.

VTEC is still more attractive than vvti engine. I guess CT Vtec will be more powerful also. For interior, CT still more spacious and nicer than Vios.

Vios & CT Vtec--->

Power= Both 110ps -->but CT hav CTV gearbox, so CT win...
Interior= CT is far better than Vios....u can see the difren even u r Deafness....hahha jokin..
Exterior....depends on ur Aesthetic standard.
Fuel consumption= CT is slightly more save fuel than Vios...

overall.....City Vtec is the choice... :)

Ironically, I was also doing this same evaluation for a friend who wants to choose between these two cars. So far here are the pros and cons that I have found:

Engine
- VTEC engine is known to be more powerful that VVT-i
- After test drive, it seems that the Vios is much lighter during pickup
- Based on technical specs, Vios has a slightly lighter chasis and its engine outputs slightly more power than the city.
- City auto gear shift is much smoother compared to Vios.
- City has triptonic gear shifting option. Vios does not.
- Fuel consumption of City is better than Vios.

Interior
- City interior is far better quality compared to Vios
- City has foldable front seats
- City is slightly more spacious in the back seat
- City has more boot space

Safety
- Vios has the strengthened safety cage incorporated into the chasis
- City does not state that it has this safety feature

Finance
- Supposedly, there is a 2.8% loan interest for Vios and they give 1 year interest free
- Honda has 3.5% loan interest rate
- Resale value of City is much better than Vios (as speculated from previous Honda models)

That was about as much as I found out about these two cars. I prefer the exterior look of the Vios, but the interior is not as good as City.

>- City does not state that it has this safety feature
City hav G-Con technology & in Crash test, CT is better than Vios.

>- Honda has 3.5% loan interest rate
now is 2.22% :)

well..seriously dude..its pretty subjective to ask this question in a honda section of the forum..obviously..the CT will stand out...vice versa..if u ask the same question in the Toyota section the Vios will stand out...

What i would advise is...go to both showroom, and try out both cars...and then compare...

I did that and i picked the Vios...:)

honda dudez, no means of intruding though..just happen to spot this topic on the index page....:)

Ah yess.... G-Con. I forgot what it was called.

The interest rate which bank offering?

Why did you pick Vios over City? What was the main reason for doing so?

QUOTE (Riezal-R @ Feb 21 2005, 16:06 )
this is like a person's weight difference
3. interior - CT's backseat....though its foldable i find it a lil' awkward bein' hollow at the bottom, and light colored-interiors do get dirty more easily ---> that's one reason why i didn't take the Vios Es also...
4. suspension - probably due to its weight, the City feels a lil' soft
5. space - this one the CT wins hands down, it has longer legroom, especially the rear passenger seats
6. paintwork - somehow i do find that the CT's paintwork is better than the Vios's
7. looks - this is a VERY subjective thing...some likes the Vios's, while some like's the City...

So bein' 4 1/2 out of 7...the Vios scores better on my comparison

anyway, to me picking a car is even-ing out the strengths and weaknesses not buyin' for the sake of the brand...

cheers,..and again..no offence.. ;)

;) hmmmm....if me i'll be going for CT......bcoz it is HONDA!!!!!!!!summor got VTEC......but if it is exterior u want to chase go for VIOS...from what i heard VVTI not last long...use 4-5 years it will going slow....i nearly 'terjebak' to buy a VIOS but thinking my car can do mods.....i stick with it.......LONG LIVE HONDA!!!!!!!!

i appreciated all ur comments guys..now 90 % is on city...hehehe..thanks guys!! vtec rulez huh..

just an opinion of mine lah. so don't kutuk so much. hehehe !!! b4 i got my EJ9, i planned to buy either city vtec or vios G. well, although city vtec is slighty more expensive than vios, but wat the heck.

okie, to lay man's point of view.....vios is definitely looks better on the outside. performance wise, vios has a twin cam engine while city vtec has a single cam. horsepower wise, almost identical (vios-->109hp, city vtec-->110hp). BUT, imagine this ppl, a single cam car can have the same horsepower as a twin cam car. now tht's a credit we need to give to honda. :D i won't go to details on the technical performance....since some of the bro here already explain earlier.

but in the end, i didn't choose any of them. hahaha !!! anyway, happy hunting.

i tot vios also selling ard 86k which is almost same as City?...that's why i think, wth? same price, but i get a lower 1bhp (no much diff la), no magic seat, lower quality of interior, no CVT as well...just only becoz of look i choose vios? worth o not...this is what i'm thinking...

somemore with city, u get a damn big boot, if u like sound system, sure can fit in a lot of amp and all...

City = is like buying the technology but not looks
Vios = is like buying the looks but not technology

as we can see here ... Honda city will have better technology and hp than vios.

but if u are go for looks definitely vios... serious..

if u want the technology go for CITY , you can spend 1k to 1500k to fix the mugen body kit. i can tell u, it will a lot a lot different ...
