i know there will be some unwanted result in car damage if we over rev the car.
What would be the possible outcome if we do it fequently? i mean which part of the engine do i need to concern when doin high rev.
Any good ways to maintain the engine efficiency for high rev?
i only knows some good engine oils might help. engine blueprint is good but expensive!
Any other alternative? Pls share...

dun always over rev ur engine.... shift when touching the red line.... :D

change oils more fequen....

Possible engine parts that can die from over-revving would be piston, piston ring, conrod, bearing, and valve.

How to increase ur redline? Probably:

1. Balance the engine
2. Use lighter engine components eg titanium conrod, or can also use stronger engine components eg forged pistons
3. Use at least a fully syntethic engine oil

For standard engine, there's no benefit revving it beyond redline as the engine no longer makes power after redline. For engines tuned to produce power at high RPM (eg racing cams), that's a different story.

depend on engine oso rite? some engine need to rev high, some no need, rite?

Vtec,Mivec n 20v engine normaly

other engine not sugested even turbo engine...

first of all... u must ask yourself... is there a POINT in over revving ??!?!

If u go dyno your car... you'll know what i mean by that... coz' usually the powerband drops and your torque also drops before u can reach ur redline.... in other words... you car would be faster if u just shift gears !!

high revving just for NA with short stroker engine which is more respon compare long stroke engine.... n furthermore, most of short stroke engine got high compression pistons too...

for NA cars such as proton (wira, satria etc) no recomended to rev ur engine beyond red-line. just like TAQU said, NA car will loose power above the red line. unlike MIVEC, Vtec,NEO-VVL and other variable valve lifting need to rev more to get more power.
it may cause damage on ur conrod, clutch, piston, piston ring may jammed and so on. WEAR n TEAR is getting more faster.
so for NA (proton 1.3, 1.5, 1.6, 1.8) is better to shift ur gear b4 red line. pls play safe. if not the worst thing will happen like ur TIming Belt will GONE!

correct me if am wrong.t.q

if timing belt putus most probably u need to take out the head n do overhaul.. n c how many valve bengkok edi.. hehehe..

agree with u..but what if u have a longer gear ratio?..

revving the engine is fun
its like your blood will circulate better
when u hear the engine scream
the sound is sweeeet
see the RPM needle on the meter goes up is cool

normally it will f*&* all ur valve hahahah..
but if ur lucky onli 1 or 2 la yg selamat..
it's getting worst if the valve hit ur piston till 'berlobang'.
aiyaa dun ever rev so high laaaa:biggrin: ..

because i just changed my stock cam to a higher cam. hehe

agree. no point rev higher if ur hp peak at say 6500 rpm. no power after that rite?

unless your hp peak at very high rpm lor..

juz my 2 sen.

lolzzzz
high rev high rev .....later engine kahboom
samore high rev engine eat engine oil quite fast....
my 2 cen...
so drive safe

Long stroke engines can be revved safely if the components are strong/light enough and the engine is carefully assembled & balanced. For example some Honda VTEC engines (if not all) are actually long stroke but can rev to 9000RPM.

Of course too much hi-revving will shorten the engine life. But normally most engine can withstand abit over-revving if it's seldom done (and not too much).

In fact next year I will be building a 4G15 engine that can withstand 8000-8500RPM. I hope it will be reliable and wear out like regular 4G15.

u wanna high rev, install MIVEC..
can rev until 9000

*edited. sorry wrong figure tertukar dengan Max Output

issit? i tot max torque is at lower rpm. max hp i think abt 5500/6000.. correct me if im wrong..
