hey guy im a new member....i need help..im driving satria 1.6 year 1997 Jan strait piping 16' inch rims and other are standard..the petrol consumption is high...45km for RM10..If anybody have idea pls help me..TQ :(

check back some previous topics... quite a few on high FC... just run the search topic. Anyway, try to go to proton service centre or any eon service and tell them to check your ECU and A/F sensor... maybe something wrong gua. Actually lotz of things can lead to high FC. Large rims, faulty spark plugs/plug cables but most common is heavy right foot... anyway, i can't be sure about the A/F sensor and the ECU thingy. That's what i heard from some forummers in here. Do check out some previous topics...

eg: if say.. originally it was satria 1.5 (A) then convert to (M) so.. need to change exhaust system also?

it could be the piping.
technically,u shud check the ECU air-fuel ratio.

my satria 1.6(m) strait piping, with 16 in rims been using since 4 yrs..but last time the consumption was at least better 60km for RM10 which i think also still high..but lately, about 1 mth my car only giving 30 to 35 km for RM10..i serviced the car new plug, new oil, tuning then computer checking air flow sensor and the rest seem good...my fren using putera 1.8(m) 17 inch rims can give RM80k for RM10 & RM50km for RM10(if tekan nicely)....Im worried wat else it could be for my car??

haiya.. dun get mad la.. i seldom check in dis car mod. forum 1..
S flow is like the guy said 1.. if u use straight flow sure consume a lot of petrol.. try change back n c if there's improvement..
i'm also having fc problem.. people call me fc king coz my accord rm50 can last for 150kms oni but yours even worst coz 1.6 manual..
antaras is right.. a lot of things can lead to hi fc.. i tried everything.. plugs, air filter, atf, o2 sensor, etc.. also no use.. must overhaul engine already..
before u do dat.. check ur muffler piping.. if got hole then fc bad like shit jz like my fren's wira 1.6 manual.. good luck..

i'm tryin' to help u out.. coz i know how u feel.. i also experienced it before.. so any sifu care to help dis guy as well? share share la..
here's wat i've done to my car n no effects ..
1> spark plugs - wun really affect much leh.. i changed twice loh..
2> auto transmission fluid - yours is manual. .no need.. hehehe..
3> change petrol use? - petronas, shell, mobil, esso, projet? all the same la..
4> O2 sensor - checked.. but also nothing happen leh.. u go n check if it's in working order.. if gila gila means it tells ur ecu to instruct the injector to syok syok inject petrol.. then fc bad loh..
5> muffler piping - go n check la.. like i said 1... my frens' wira..
6> air filter - changed 3 pcs all new n diff. brand .. K&N, ori accord filter n taiwan.. all no effects...
7> wat else hah?
at last i changed engine coz my engine's bearing kong already.. mayb yours also? ur engine start to eat oil fluid..

Dude, i dun think anyone of u here will have more fuel consumption than mine. RM56 full tank for only 250km...only a wira 1.5 carb with 1.78 piping plus 15 inch sport rim.

u might wanna check ur fuel tank...just look thru all the hoses going into, out & around ur fuel tank...there might be a leak sumwhere..wont cost u any money, so just have it checked...

same like my car loh.. full tank 260kms but my full tank is rm65~rm70.. ur car 1.5 carb. 15" sport rim n all stock.. dat kinda fc is way too much man.. check the carb leh... too unusual liao..

fc for full tank is 320++ total stock car(normal drivin)
quite bad also rite

hahaha... well, i guess mine also not that far off from u guys... 1.6A satria on 16". Full tank(Rm52-56) = 230-260km. I believe i am a heavy right footer but not very laaa... cause always not happy with my car's performance... hahaha... :P

I dont know about you guys about heavy footing. I tried out before not to heavy footing and RPM not exceeding 3500K. The mileage almost the same and not so good also.

Full tank = RM55
Heavy footing = 280KM
Scare the engin will scream = 270KM

In normal KL driving.
Since few time trying it, now i dont even give a dam, hit 5000 RPM for all gear still give me 280 KM.

My car, 1.3 Gli (M) Satria 97, 15 inch rims (thinking to change to 14 inch, see whether can save fuel or not)
