Hid lights are illegal if fitted without JPJ approval what do u guys think?? silly n stupid idea right...star paper motorists complain of discomfort.

Walan yea...oledi discussed many times le bro...

use 'SEARCH' button to find

it is ilegal...depends oso

i personally support HID lights to be banned. Although it may benefit the driver, i still think it is dangerous to other motorist. Good job to the star team for posting it up at the main page.

Walau e... so ban HID then solved the problem oredi lar? If my stock yellow bulb pointing up in ppls eyes oso nevermind la? Not HID ma...

Ya i saw the star paper oso. HID is illegal unless checked and approved by jay-pee-jay. I think this is a good move to curb those sky shooting hid's. If caliberated nicely shud be fine, wont glare opposite drivers vision.

But then again, jay-pee-jay officers can cari another source of duit kopi.... sad:frown:

correcly fitted HID benefits the driver and do not blind other motorist... but badly projected HID, even if only normal halogen also will blind other motorist...

its not the matter of HID or not... its the angle of projection that matters..

Ya, totally agree on SkYwAlKeR. HID or not, it ultimately comes to proper allignment. JPJ shud oso come out with a proper guideline so it doesn't coz a mess like those tinted glass operation sumtime ago where no proper standard was set.

ya. so hate those HID with wrong angle...
and those stupid ah beng use blue or green light
make me cannot see the road..
make my eyes pain

those car originally fit with HID one no such problem one

hehe... so, those u guys who spent thousands of bucks doing up ur HID's... what do u have to say ?

sometimes it's NOT JUST ABOUT pointing up or down. its the colour of the light which is produced. our human eyes are comfertable to a certain measurement of colour tempreture. halogen also is very EXTREAMLY blinding as well.. but compare to those 5000kelvin to 8000kelvin (i duno what is the maximum colour tempreture out there) or watsoever... i am sure ppl will say HID will be even blinding. :albertein

Not true.

Human eyes are generally comfortable with any visible colour temperature.
Their mentality is the cause of the "disturbance".
Once they see white light, they think "omg...it's white...I am blind!!!" even if they are perfectly fine.

Simple experiment, you dont see people getting blind when they are in a room with white lights, dont you?

im sure the colour temp. of the HID and fluorescent lights are different. Im sure the former is higher than the former.

as an analogy,
take the sun as the HID and the HID as the fluorescent.
both are white but the colour temp is diff. with the former higher.

regarding the topic,
i doubt that police will do anything soon as HID have been on the st. for many yrs already.

This misunderstanding is the reason why many people are confused between light colour(temperature)(k) and light intensity(brightness)(cd).

just pure stupid la.. the motorists probably have some adaptation problem with their eyes.. goverment should supplement these people with vitamin A to cure the problem instead of asking us not to fit HID lights which can only relieve their symptoms temporarily n not curing them..haha...

Good point Skywalker! Its true. There should be nothing wrong with HID if the angle of projection is properly calibrated.

It's true... but.... most of the user don't calibrate it properly...... they only know how to put it in their car... hate this type of people....
