hey guys. any help would be good.
PROBLEM:when i just start the car, it revs like its gonna die. goes to 1000 then down to 300 and it keeps doin that until i step on the gas to level it for awhile. then it'll be ok.
CONCLUSIONs: Ive tried cleaning the AF sensors, throttle body, new iridium plugs... etc.
Questions: U think i gotta change my MAF sensors? my 02 sensor? i think mine is quite dificult to find. Anyways, Thanx in advance!
 
Bro, still the same issue? Go to OMS in Puchong ler. They've got that plug n play ECU analyzer-troubleshooter-thingamagic (No idea what it's called). That's how they checked my car last time. They found out it was the MAF (that's me ler). Aights?

i really need to get it done-like by the next paycheck. blew cash on a calsonic radiator in which made a small hole in my pocket... ahhehehe. thanx again dudes!

Hhmmm, since already got a thread for SR20DET problem, might as well try me luck here :)

Anyone got problems with their FICD on SR20DET? Problem started when I sent my engine for a wash :mad: Basket should have never sent it in. Now the idling is around 1300rpms w/o aircond and drops to around 800rpms with a/c on. And sometimes when I kill the ignition and the turbo timer kicks in, the idling will start revving up and down; something like hi cam like that. Confirm it's running rich since got black smoke coming out from exhaust when this happens. Cleaned my whole inlet manifold, butterfly, injector rail blabla but problem still occurs. Suspected my AFM got prob but couldn't find any :( I got Z32 AFM at home but need to do a lot of wiring ka? :D Read instructions in Option Japan and it looks quite straight forward

So, anyone mind to help?

sorry bro. wouldn't know for sure but i think the ECU is probably confused for some reason. resetting it might help i think. my ficd is screwd. had to modify and install a toyota one. haha yup TOYOTA! well it worked.
Actually, could that be the reason for my idling problem? should i clean up the toyota ficd? anyone here thinks so?
 
haiyah... nvm bout the ficd cleaning. my foreman just told me that there is no cleaning required but maybe just by using compressed air... hmmm..... in which wouldn't help.
 
sage - how come cmng said u know how to get there oredi. hehehe. btw, yeah still workout. twice or three times weekly. saw u whatttt that day...

JUN - if u haven't done so (just a suggestion), check the distributor thingies at the sparkplug points. coz the last time i cleaned the engine water was in there. blasted it with comp air then all ok. :)

Anyway, checked everything that has to be checked. Mechanic also not quite sure whether if it's the FICD problem.

sage, my ECU ar? Never took it out b4 la. Previous owner stated that it was a Top Fuel ECU. Need to check on it but I don't think it's the ECU problem :) Thanx anyway

JUN - yeah very sad indeed. losing sleep actually thinking on `how to save my baby?'. 'sides i won't be here much to enjoy it so it'll be a waste of a good ride. goin interstate fer business. g'luck wit' your troubleshooting mate. :)
 
See tell everyone. They dont listen. SR20DET useless and pariah engine.
4G63, 3SGE, K20A, EJ20 all super keng chow engine.
But SR20 useless, slow, no power, problematic...

And plus u mentioned car wash, very likey water has seeped into the spark plug leads. Dry it up and tape the top.

HOI! dont lah dis nissan engines here! obviously u kena thrash before for u to speak that way!
 
ahaha...that's the ONLY place I didn't care to look into :tongue: Thanx a lot Vic :) Hopefully it's the spark plug problem. Lazy to go look for another FICD :thumpdown

that why i migrate to RB25DET..
R33 GTS RB25DET

SR20 has got a strong tendency to have lose coils.. check your spark plug.. see if you get even wear for all four..

only applicable to RWD SR..
FWD SR use distributor.

see nissan damn so cai.. one coil one dis
headache only
 
my bad.. was assuming that he was running RWD.. :)

wad to do.. play performance engine..
hee.. there's a whole lot more other than coils.. be prepared.. :)
 
err..I AM running RWD :D

cmng, i tot u migrate to RB-X GT2 RWD? :D
