Hello Sifus,

After much thought and condsideration and reading a lot of threads from many forms (and also with a little bit of nudge from my wife), I decided to get the Year 2000 Cefiro 2.0

Went to Cheras AutoCity, after half an hour 'drooling' on other likes of Skylines and the rest of them (heart sad no money to buy) I finaly saw the car that I wanted, a metallic gold excimo.

Test drive the car, was quite happy with the smoothness and how quiet the car was. Mileage is at about 76 K (which was quite hard to believe for a 5 year old car, but it was a company car), and there was no traces of any accidents on the body of the car.

My question to all the sifus here, before I actually proceed with the purchase, is there anything in particular that I should look out for?

Hopefully, once I've got everything sorted out, will be one of the proud Cefiro owners like everyone here

Excimo, Thanks for your reply

The price quoted was 54K, came with 2 airbags, digital odometer.

I didnt quite really notice on the gear display panel on the dashboard as I was too engrossed on listening to other noises that comes out from the car while I was test driving. Fortunately there was none :)

And No, it doesnt come with crystal lights. Just something intersting though, I saw a switch for snow drive by the left side of the gear, is this normal?

I haven't signed anything yet, so sure, I'm more than happy to look at any car, how much you're thinking of letting it go for? ANy extras ? :D

honggas....mana missing...???

I pm you?

Not interested any more isit...?

Wah lau eh.....diam diam PM-ing la.
So what happen to the ride? bought liao?

hait hait,

oledi got it. I guess after a few months down the road only got some money to start doing some stuff to the car :P

When next t/t? So can see you guys punya ride and "steal" some ideas :D

Nope I didn't get excimo's as I end up with the same car that I had looked at. Turns out that everything was settled quite fast so I didnt actually get the chance to have a look at excimo's car.

Details of the car, err ... susahlah want to compare, simply if I put the car side by side with Bro Ongteckweng's one sure like Ferrari side by side with Kancil.

Everything comes stock standard, nothing was done to the car at all.

Probably I'll start off with some changes that actually might improve FC, any ideas anyone?

 dont la like that...comparing my ride with ur ride like fellali n kancil..

anyway, the best way to improve ur FC, n safest way its to change all ur oils..use good engine oil (fully syn if can) and gearoil etc...u will notice ur engine will be a lot quiet n smoother. then get a K&N drop in filter. these baby works wonder n u dont need another set of air filter in ur car lifetime...just send it to cleanup every 50,000km or so...check ur spark plugs...if still using original platinum, get the NGK Iridium IK20 (0.4mm)...u will feel the difference!!! these things have been tested by myself n most of the guys here so hope this help.

if u need a place to get them cheaper, pm me. i can recommend a good place in Tmn Paramount, PJ...hope to u in next TT...cheers

I had read somewhere (seriously dont remember where) that Cefiros can't really use oil that's too light as the engine can die during idle.

Is this true? Seems that you guys have no problem using full synth oil.

u r right honggas...we cant use anything less than 10w-40/50...if u r using 5w or even 0w...u will have problems...but dont think engine will die during idling...only ur engine oil will disappear after 1000-2000km...appearantly, our engine is using forged pistons. some members like defcon and rachelagl experienced this b4...

fully syn doesnt mean has to be below 10w-40/50...i am using Q8 F1 fully syn with 10w-x0...no prob whatsoever...

Off track a bit, is it true that the VQ engines are designed with using NGK spark plugs in mind?

Saw that people can actually can either lose HP, get engine problem or other problems just by not using NGK spark plugs.

Anyone using any other spark plugs and can testify against this fact?

its not true mate...i am using Denso Iridium IK20 with 0.4mm gap...no prob whatsoever..plus can feel more power thru butt dyno...

Wahahaho .. ok ok .. meant that I got con lah :P

Aiyoh, good lesson to learn, make sure you check, double check, triple check and quadruple check everything you read on forums :)
