How many Kits are there in the market?Pls Share if u have information.I can only share you with what i have and taken out from my car.HKS GT-SS Power produce is 320Hp on engine with standard internals and 0.6bar.HKS have another kit called HKS GT-RS that pumps out 370HP on engine with minor internal upgrades. GT-SS & GT-RS basically are the same with just interchanging of the TURBOS.GT-SS brand new = 698,000 yenGT-RS brand new = 760,000 yen (if i remember correctly)So cut the crap & look at the pictures what the kits consist of.

Re: Foce Fed Kits for ALTEZZA

WAH.....no one actually have any experience or knowledge about other BOTs?

Re: Foce Fed Kits for ALTEZZA

Yah bro, i think no one really know included me. Buy the way is this BOTs for 3S-GE engine? Auto can use?:smokin:

Re: Foce Fed Kits for ALTEZZA

auto & manual can use.only for BEAMS 3S-GE in an Altezza can use.

Re: Foce Fed Kits for ALTEZZA

I'm in the midst of doing my own supercharger. Using an Eaton M45 from a Merc Kompressor or MINI Cooper S, mate it to an intercooler, calculate the drive ratio required, mount it up, and off I go. Simple.

I've already got an intercooler, e-manage, BOV, and the blower. Unfortunately the blower isnt in the best of shape, so I'm going to have to either recondition it, or get another one.

Why pay so much for an off-the-shelf kit when you can just do your own?

Does anyone know whether they drop the compression with the Blitz Supercharger kit, and if so what CR do they run?

Re: Foce Fed Kits for ALTEZZA

Brother....it is not so much as "y pay so much for an off-the shelf thingy"..

This is seriuosly an individual preference such as yourself that prefer to go hybrid path to your car.

no u dun need to lower your compression if yours is running at 250HP on engine..
If u planing to run above 250HP or boost in excess of 0.6bar you will need to decrease your compression to 10.5 :1

adian, may i ask are u techical base? or other.

In theory yes,but assume you have a way of resolving the AFM and throttle. Also the alignment of the drive pulley and overall piping.

To be fair you got to include in cost of all the materials and workmanship.

Come TT and show your ride when its done!!!
hmmm! off point here BUT wonder what happen to a few new 1JZ transplants-heard there were at least 3 of them.

wow DIY huh.

not to say it cannot be done, like there are a few proton GTIs with malaysian built superchargers(they cost RM5000 for the whole package), very drivable, but make sure the worksmanship is good, plus ur tuning.

otherwise, you might end up with more trouble than you wish for, or the necessary power band wayyy off

good luck

To be fair, the japanese make a killing on their kits!! I know, i've dealt directly with some of the big boys (Toda, Tein, ORC, Tomei, WELD, Project Mu) in my time and was privy to their pricing structures.

On the other hand, I see the benefits of a plug-and-play kit here in Malaysia where we are (rightly so!) very suspect of 99% of our workshops' so-called "Expertise". Face it, most the fellas here are mostly under-the-tree educated when it comes to mechanical and automotive engineering! So we often cant bring ourselves to entrust our cars to them.

I would assume they'd have to drop the compression. At 11.0:1, our 3S engine's compression is way too high for any theoretical form of boost which will provide positive gains. That's why I'm asking, coz from what I see in the pictures of the Blitz kit, I can't see any thicker head gasket!

Of course with the more modern approach, we're used to high-comp low-pressure OEM turbo installations, and with the current direction injection theme, comp ratios of 10:1 for a 0.7bar setup are common (VW and Porsche anyone?).

I mean, boosting up to 0.7 bar on my engine is possible, but remember that this is a bolt on, not an OEM installation which would have the benefits of months of R&D and heaps of engineers running simulations. So i'd rather not take the risk.

Besides I'd probably have to dial in so much ignition retard, would it actually be beneficial or not? Not to mention it would generate more engine heat. So, these are my considerations. Wht CR does the HKS kit drop to?

My technical experience? I'm the father of the Proton Satria R3, amongst others :)

Bump: Porosaki, i've been reading some of your postings. What's your tech background ah? It's fun to discuss hardcore issues :)

Adian was from R3.. but i think he left already.. is it true bro Adian?

I have seen the series of your birthday gift project cars.. excellent collection of monsters..

Cheers.. good to have u here.. let me know if you DIY project is on, I want to book 1..

:wavey::wavey:bro adian
Good to have you come and discuss some hardcore mod issues.

err! how you dial in ignition retard,is it possible and/or necessary??
Assuming higher boost and retard timing would'nt it 'pink' or pre-ignite
What about the VVTi kicking in?
Wanna invite you come see my friend's 'under-the-cherry-tree' shop; seriously you may even know him.-ex rally kaki!

Bump: bro adian, who is doing your custom piping?

When you adjust the ignition on your ECU via the controller, that's a form of retarding or advancing the ignition. Advancing the ignition refers to how "earlier" in the stroke you set the ignition to fire, and retard is pulling it back. Generally the more you advance the ignition, to a point, the more power you get. But the more you advance it, the closer you get to detonation, which is a situation whereby the ignition is so advanced that it ignites too early, and rattles your pistons (this rattling is known as "pinking"). Hardcore detonation is when, literally, your engine blows up hahaha..

Tubing ah?? Errrr... I malas to go all over the place looking for a good exhaust/tubing guy, so I just go to Speedworks these past few years, since I know Toh well. For aluminium welding, there's this old chinese guy in Segambut who works out of a hole in the wall, but creates beautiful welds!

I have many stories of my Proton days.. even the Lotus Europa was my project, halfway lah. I'm the one that persuaded management to give it to Lotus, rather than brand it as a Proton. Dont you notice how much it's styling echoes that of the Satria Neo?

Oh and I had a session with my engineer today and he's telling me horror stories of trying to line up the pulleys when mounting a supercharger.... ouchh..

Nice to actually also have another guy who knows what he is doing...
Good good..can't wait to drag u out for TT to get to know more that we dun & u do.

always nice to talk technical.
I'm just a lowly engineer...not father of anything...lol

/salute & respect to u adian

As for my BOT...u only need to but 540cc injectors,a fuel pump, & that HKS vpro to run it.
And the kit comes with 1.6mm metal head gasket suppose to drop to 10.5:1 CR

Been running 0.8boost most of the time.

As for tuning, done by TRIAL.

Small disagreement on the advance/retard explanation-but can wait for when u come TT

More important is have you 'cracked' the infamous Toyota altezza ECU or you are 'dialing in' via the OBD ??

If you are still deadset on your supercharger and alignment;I can ask my 'under-the-tree' mechanic have a look--dead serious.I think you sound like a guy who values good honest workmanship. We may want to know your 'piping' guy too.
