Exhaust Sound

Last month an FTO overtake me and the sound of the fto's exhaust is very nice. It sounded like a supercar (almost like a ferrari). So sifu sifu sekalian, how do i determine the sound of an exhaust ? And i notice some mufflers sound like a boxer engine too.

And one more question, izzit possible to put superbike muffler on a car ? will the sound be the same ? I just love the sound of a superbike :D

Depends on ur muffler. I've been chg so many times my muffler. From noisy > silent > sporty sounds. Never satisfied ma...

Looking for F1 car sound but then they said i have to chg F1 engine as well...hehe

I think u shud chg to Mivec V6 engine too.

Abt superbike sound, yes i found one car. Not sure izzit superbike muffler. I chased him but kenot kejar that car...Damn fast...

im not sifu or expert,just to share something i heard b4.
i heard ppl said the type/size/material can determine the sound of ur exhaust.

in my campus got a motorbike with 2 5zigen car exhaust... damn nice... not sure if cap ayam 5zigen lar but really look kengz...

yep.. V6's sound is cun.. previously there was dis white satria with 1.6 V6 Mivec.. sound damn cun!... but.. whether the car 'pergi ..or tak pergi' .. is a diff story la ;)

FTO is a v configuration engine right? If yes, then i doubt inline engines will ever be able to produce such exhaust notes. similarly f1 exhaust notes is impossible to achieve due to their high revving engine, exhaust system, gearbox and induction system which is totally different from car.

if you like the sound of a v6 engine, wait till you hear a V8 or V10 monster.

the 1 laying the role is the V6 engine in the FTO..

Not the exhaust la i think....V6 engines does produce very nice sounds..

u sure ar ? but perdana v6/twin turbo with modded exhaust doesnt sound the same

turbo different, coz the exhaust passes through the turbine fins already. changes the sound it produces.

webers also play a role in exhaust emmisions hence making some rather nice sounds.... ;)

Yes... Boxer sounds nice. Deep, bassy and got grunts. At least that's how I would describe it.

Turbocharged sounds rather metallic.

Mine? Using 5-Zigen Fireball running in 2 inch pipe on light-modded 1.3 Satria. Sounds like tongkang at low rev but rather nice note on hi rev. But it's too loud!
