ondgennis, not joining us?

sound like you are riding RD2 / Hyundai Coupe Turbelence .

http://www.nemesisperformance.net/Merchant2/graphics/00000001/Hyundai_Coupe_complete_kit_lg.gif

basically RD2 and RD1 having the same engine. If that's the case, there are successful case of doing 4G93T (EVO), 4G63T (GSR) conversion.

try avoid bolt-on Turbo will be my advice, better take the half-cut and convert it.
1 of the Coupe Club member did his 4G63T (220 hp) onversion with my mech. His Coupe is a daily ride, always running up and down Rawang and Klang Valley without problem.

4G63T??? "evo 1 to 3" or "evo 4 and above"?? without changing any mounting?? u mean GSR also can fit tat mean shd be evo 1 to 3 rite? then how bout the chassis of tat car?? can u guy show me tat car interior, thx.. i quite interested of this car, but i heard many ppl said this car is underpower for 1.6 and 1.8.. am i rite? correct me if im wrong.. thx

you need to change the mounting. Yes it is underpower, I need to look for 2.7 V6 engine for it. hoho

Yupe, my 1.8 Coupe is underpower also. The respond of my car is quite slow. Thought of converting it to 4G63T.

Haven thought of which type of engine yet because I've changed my plan. Just wanna tuned it without engine transplant rite now. Coz I've heard people sayin that a Turbo engine is hard to maintain. The engine bay might fit in the V6 but bout JPJ approval for the mounting changes I'm not so sure bout it! The 2.7 V6 engine that BSamurai mention bout is Hyundai's state-of-the-art engine for it's third gen Coupe.

about the mounting.. i heard a lot ppl said tat if need to change the mounting, normally JPJ wont approve wor.. am i rite?? one more thing is.. about the 2.7 V6 gen3 coupe.. i think JPJ also wont approve.. cox 2.0 cannot go to 2.7 rite?? max only can go to 2.2... i not so sure.. just heard from ppl...

anyone can tell me which type of engine can fit into coupe without changing the mounting, pls~

guys,
As i said earlier on the other tread. You guys should give the BETA engine a chance man. It is a engine that has a lot of potential. It is also capable of going turbo without any reliability problem. Why? because its block is made of iron (the same material that used on Skyline RB26DETT. A proper bolt on with 0.5 bar of pressure won't do any damage and give you close to 200hp which is sufficient enought. But still I would say go for NA tune first to get the potetial out of it.

yeap! you are right on that. The only reliable unit are those in oversea such as Alpine Turbo set. sign....

i saw a hyundai coupe putting in Evo7 4g63t in 1 of my mech place in pandan indan..

gosh...the haflcut cost like 30k

What generation of the Coupe is???

daniel,
If you relly wants to do a swap then perhaps you should consider 4G93T as it is more economical and cheaper to maintain and also lighter on your wallet for the whole package. Anything there is more than 200Whp on a front wheel drive is very very hard to drive. Think of it like you driving on a metal plate with water on it. The wheel will keep spinning and very frust.

thats my 2 cents

maybe i shall ask Yu out TT with us, he have 4G63T installed nicely.
And his mouth never stop telling you his experience of conversion

His Coupe is the most crazy mod I met so far. PCD, RIM, Brake, LED, BIGBIG Supra Spoiler and a little bit of widebody. But he don't allow me to take photo of his car, coz he say bad paintjob. LOL. Yes, paint job is what he take care last. Last time he told me that his Coupe didn't wash for MONTHS. :thefinger:

Of course, Ace's Coupe still the best well keep NA Coupe I met so far.
