Engine Conversion From 1.0 to 1.6

Hi Guys!!... wish u all can give some input here.. i ride cheap Daihatsu Espri and plan to convert my lousy-underpowered 1.0L engine to 1.6L Detomaso engine..4E or any 1.3 engine is not an option 4 me..
Guess there will be big problem to pass the JPJ inspection/registration aite? since the cc upgrading exceeds JPJ's 30% requirement. They are soo strict now..
Do u guys have any idea how to go through all this crap? I really appreciate all ya inputs. Tks! ;)
 
not sure bout other ppl, but i have several friends whom couldn't get approval for the conversion ... over 30% limit.

plonk in HC-E lor.. confirm pass.
 
Yes.. sure tak pass. While u r at it.. might as well drop in a 2.0 lo. :P
 
eventhough you kawtim undertable, if roadblock for sure go for inspection and ask you to change back the engine...theres no such things undertable in JPJ anymore...just forget it..
 
Maybe he got the halfcut with the engine ? :D
Anyway, it depends on you, probability of kena tahan at road block vs the feeling of 1.6 Deto.
Which one stronger ?
But i know many people revert back to 1.3 already in KL.... sad...
 
Of cos 1.6 more power la. But have to see your original CC is how much first.
 
Yup!.. my fren is selling his 1.6 Deto damn cheap! At halfcut 1.3 n 1.6 engine price is almost the same. I don prefer turbo engine due to the high maintenance la.. 1.3 NA engine don’t kick much ass aite? Later cannot play with higher cc cars.. Sad…sad.. guess I’ve to play more with my KTM 400.. still can tapau turbo cars at traffic light! Hehehe.. somemore their gf always smile at me.. wish I have spare helmet.. :D hehehe..
Anybobody looking 4 scrambler here?
 
Pls refer to Turbo Maintenance topic. Its not higher maintanence compared to NA engines.
 
1.6 no...defi cannot. if can u can see many luxury cars or high power car kena tapau by kelisas.

1.3 is good enuff..drop in a vry. top speed also 220+ 70% thro. open oni.

powerfull engine ..nice ..but can yr car body handle it..might just snap anytime..
just my 2 cents.(biar lambat asalkan selamat)

lucky my gf prefer to sit in a transport which has air-cond'ed cabin (woo.. wont scared of raining & sun lite B) ), leather seats & ICE.. She always can take a short nap comfortably in my car whenever we r travelling.. :lol: :lol:

K cut the crap. so back to the engine topic, ok can u guys list down the 1.3 engine options n as well as the pros n cons. First we have yrv.. is it for the Move one?
 
Troy.. we ARE from and IN jb. So dunt need u to come tell us the scene in JB. tq. :)
 
The YRV is not Move.. Move is L9. its a 660cc turbo engine. I dunno if u can use the YRV engine. U have to check if mountings are the same or not.
 
definitely YRV halfcut cant be plonked into espri without changing the mountings....both engine is different series.....

who says 1.3 n/a canot play with higher cc cars ? HC-E can play with 4G15 ma....ahahah....ask zephy.....he always tarpau them for supper....
