to all sifus out there,

i'm a fresh guy in this forum and would like to seek some advice from all the sifus out there. i've just bought a secondhand EJ7 with engine MF7 soch vtec and i've tried to drive this car upto 6-7k rpm, but couldn't feel the 'vtec'. i'm wondering what's the rpm for the vtec to open? how do i know that it's really open or faulty?

btw, what's the hp for this original engine? any abs for this EJ7? how to confirm if this car got abs?

i'm planning to replace this original engine bcoz couldn't feel the 'power of dream' at all. thinking of those big vtec b16a. any idea how much to have a b16a engine? do i need to have a half cut or just an engine will do?

hi anakin, looks like we have the same ride.... yeah, go for the B16A from an EK4..it would cost you up to 9K including installation... good luck in finding the halfcut.

If possible go and get EG6 hafkat, and check whether it comes with LSD or not. Some people are particular about LSD stuff. I sold mine off and use normal gbox as LSD tends to take up lots of $$$ once it gives trouble.

4. any recommendation to begin with my modification project?

i'm not really sure about ur question since mine was already runnig a dohc vtec when i bough it, but it was a small V from integra DA6...it's not the power that make me swap to an EK4 halfcut, but the wiring n mounting that keep giving me headaches....

btw, one thing for sure that i used to have ABS n yes my car was an oto single cam vtec. u can check on the brake pumps for ABS stamp... other than that..sorry i'm not sure.

n my advise to you, dun start any modification on your MF7, save ur money for a DOHC vtec swap in future. Take my words bro n u won't regret it. Cheers...

check this main abs unit. ur car got it or not. if got than it equipped with ABS.
