go with the piggy back.

whuts the different anyway dude.....still confuse...

if i bought all of the apexi set basically i can tune almost everything rite....

need enlightment....

APEX'i boost controller meter? What's that? Are you referring to the AVC-R?

I think Dastek can do quite a few things rite? Value for money. Standalone mgmt better la beb.

But UNDENIABLY APEX'i stuff looks the BEST on your dash. LOOKS!

if i am having enough budget to buy unichip..id rather save a little for microtech MT8 with digihandset (the controller)
if choose unichip (yes it has almost the same feature as mt8 i think), then after tune then u upgrade a bit, u have to tune it once more and i think the tuner has the controller.
if MT8, u can learn bit by bit tuning ur car, after little upgrade, u can try alter it by urself (of cos a well-tuner tune precisely)

if u ask me either unichip or apexi safc..i would choose safc even thought safc can't tune ignition timing. ignition only u need alter if ur mods is more than a mild mods. u can learn tuning a/f ratio with safc

p/s: berapa banyak if daaa kekekeke

if going for standalone, what features should i look for in an ecu?

Don't need.

Just save money for Microtech LTX-8. TRUST ME.

Put that in any car, tune it up either with handset or lap top, your car will start to whoop anyone's ass on the road.

Most of the time for street use, you don't need a standalone. A piggyback with full features like the unichip would be good enough. And at the end of the day, it all boils down to the tuner. Doesn't matter if u have a MoTeC but can't tune it to its full potential... a professional tuner with just an SAFC would kick your ass.

And while you can 'tune' your car with a microtech handset, it's only guesswork and not to the fullest potential... to save budget, you should upgrade the ECU last and get it tuned profesionally once for all.

Not true.. any car can always benefit from tuning the ignition curve.

Well, I have to agree Batt though if you would have enough cash to buy a MoTech or a Microtech, you would know where or whom to go to to tune it up to its fullest potential. I have seen what Microtech can do and it seriously can whoops ass.

Of course if you don't know anyone who can tune it up for you to its fullest potential, let me know ... cause I do.

but ppl have stressed that while tuning the SAFC, you'd need to do it on a dyno. My mechanic pulak say takpayah, give to him, he can do it.. with or without dyno. haaa?

I suppose it depends on how you trust your mech. If you know that you're mech has the experience and you trust him well enough, I'm sure what he says and claims would be good enough for you.

Of course if you want to pay a little bit more money, to be certain bring it to a dyno and you can read the output yourself after tuning. :D

Just my 2 cents worth that is

very true. At least you get a dynochart to keep. And you can know abt yr car's output and put away all the guesswork.

yahh i agree...but here i only compare between unichip and apexi safc. unichip has a very good and more feature compare to safc ...BUT... u have to send ur car to dastek to tune ur car lor. unichip doesn't come with controller. everytime u change ur car setting..then u have to send them to tune it again and again and again. what about me live in kelantan ? hehehe
if unichip has controller..then i choose unichip

errrggghhhh.....pening kapla aledi laaaa......

Of course the latest version right now is LTX 12 or something like that though even for my budget, I couldn't afford that. The next best most affordable to me that is would be LTX-8. Each version has a better feature than the previous model. To tell you in detail, you take me go yam cha at Steven's Corner then I tell you everything the whole night.

Yes, is best to call Joshua too but seeing that he's been running around quite alot ... still, I'm sure he would say the same thing. To tell you the difference of each model would be like telling a grandfather story. (Of course telling you the difference in detail and not in quick 5 minutes crap).

Currently, LTX-8 proves to be very worthy with anti-lag and need not for the turbo vacuum to increase to 1 bar but even on 1st gear, it starts at 1 bar. The nice features I like about it so far. Yet, if you can save a little bit more, save it for MoTech cause that will definitely make you fly bros.

As far as I know for now, LTX-8 with tuning and wiring - RM4K

i know for 4 cylinders car is using "8" series stuff wherby 6 cylinders using "12" series ..am i rite..???ahhaa..k..for eg:

LT(X) got anti lag wher by LT dun have anti lag...any other features wif the (X) thingy? whts the difference between the (X) and witout the (X)???

so far i know got LT 8, and LT(X) 8..pls be kind to drop down a few werds here so dat i wont be a noob wen i see joshua..ahhaah...jk jk..
it wuld be better dat u guys drop down the info about:

LT 8 ???
LT(X) 8 ????

does this exist too MT 8???

:D

You don't have to worry sounding like a noob when speaking with Joshua about this as even myself I didn't even know what a turbo or what it looked like for that matter. Everyone has to start from somewhere and it would be best if you can sit down and talk to Joshua or perhaps have the time to talk on the with him explaining to you what the exact difference between the older versions of Microtech to the latest one.

Sorry but I wouldn't be the best person to speak to when you want to know in full explanable, understandable detail of each Microtech chips. Joshua does the tuning up so he would know the features of each version.

:(
