Guys,
Need help here. Does E-manage compatible for mivec turbo? Does mivec need any air flow sensor to work with E-manage? Currently considering suitable management for mivec turbo. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

mivec afaik works on a map sensor

emanage would work i guess. but not so smooth. especially transition period.

a reprogramme chip would be better. then use emanage or safc to fine tune.

my fren kelisa also use E-manage.
Kelisa is using MAP SENSOR. dun hav air flow sensor.

Juz the emanage,u need buy a sensor for e-manage if not wrong.

emanage have and option to add a map sensor. cost rm380 from mutiara if not mistaken. this is 3 bar sensor, will provide tuning map till 2bar.

ps- ur frens kelisa izzit using the ignition harness? do you have the wiring diagram for ignition side?

tq

thanks guys for the reply. actually i did not know what system my mivec is using. is it MAP or MAF? notice a sensor connected with a hose to inlet manifold. is that the MAP/MAF sensor for mivec. Or is that a vacuum sensor? Sorry me really2 blur about management.

ya.
He also ask b4, mutiara got sale.
Not problem for MAP SENSOR.

Juz the tuner in JB less..........

mivec turbo have to use standalone... emanage won't be sufficient, you won't be able to fine tune it properly... ESPECTIALLY upon mivec activation point.

sifu2,
my mech said e-manage do not have setting for mivec. is that true? mmm...yesterday we tried to connect e-manage to ecu. this one is done without 3 bar map sensor. he said something like e-manage did not hv setting for mivec. it cannot read the code for my current mivec ecu. so, he cannot setup the fuel ignition thingy and there goes my dollars. wat he recommend was a standalone ecu. but i'm still wondering why vtec turbo can be setup with only e-manage? why not mivec? seems i hv to burn my pocket for a standalone.

p/s one more thing, my fse fuel regulator making a funny sound whenever we start to cruise at low speed. after rev a bit then the sound gone. after that the sound came back again. is it something wrong with my fse?

cheers. all help appreciated.

e-manage can tune mivec one... it just that you have to install a converter or someting because the mivec activation signal is different from vtec.. one is positive signal the other is negative (or the other way around, cant remember).. it will work just fine... and for a reasonable amount of boost, you dont need standalone...

screw ur mech. preferably up da ass with a pneumatic gun with big blunt object attached.

go find another mech. if he cant even do piggy, u trust him to do standalone? unless u lab rat and getting the install n tune for free.....good luck then.

cyborg is right u need a relay to activate mivec. Mivec if not mistaken using 2 coil, MAP. So a daihatsu setting 3-C-2 should work. myself using undocumented honda setting 2-8-0 for my 4g13t (tip courtesy of CIPAN SUPERCAS-UNSELFISH TUNER-look for him if u want to install emange in ur car. this cat has done it all...vtec turbo, mivec turbo, super turbo nos etc etc hehehhehehehhe)

fse i hear always got this problem . almost all rising rate fuel regs got this shit. After a using for few years sometimes have trouble regulating the pressure consistently.

Jibong,
your mech is partially right... but i understand why he would say that it doesn't work with mivec.

Mivec activation can't be controlled by emanage. He got that part right. Unlike VAFC where u can get a mivec relay to activate mivec... it doesn't work the same way with emanage.

If u plug in the basic unit which controls only fueling... everything works fine. The minute u plug in the ignition harness... your engine check light comes up. I'm guessing this is why he said the emanage doesn't work with the mivec.

Most tuners believe its nothing wan. The emanage actually still works fine even though the engine check light keeps appearing. There is a minority that also says it doesn't work.

Why emanage works better with vtec and not mivec? Coz' vtecs are performance engines... and the emanage was made sure its designed to suit the vtecs as well, coz' they are potential buyers. Can't say the same for mivecs though... Mivec in general... isn't really considered a performance engine.

Configuring E-Manage for Mivec are totally different from what are usually done to other installations. However, E_manage CAN be wired into Mivec system if you have the know how. It will work the same as vtec, in term of your interface.

hmmm... dunno leh... i've never personally seen it done before... using emanage to control mivec that is.

thx guys for the replies. really appreciated. well, i'm going for a standalone. hopefully everything will go fine after this. really miss my car. just change back the fse to original one and probably tune the standalone tomorrow. seems like my wastegate is not working properly. boost spike up to 1.5bar when then mivec kick in. aihhh....headache

like what cipan says, it work just like vtec... not to be rude or anything, but probably you can check your fact before advising ppl or post something... coz i notice that some of your facts in your posts in this forum and other forum also are not very accurate....
